sun roof

im having a problem with my sun roof it the late 1 slide and tilt. i can get it to tilt put as i go to wind it in to slide it jams up i tryed a bit of force but it slips on the cog could any 1 help me with this problem many thanks

i gotr exactly the same problem with my mark 2 sr, if you lean on the sunroof from above with a bit of force(at the front of the sunroof,dead in the middle ie nearest to where the winder mechanism is)and then wind it back it should go, my mates gsi worked like this. after getting it back and thouroughly oiling all the runners and moving parts his worked fine, unfortunately mine hasnt improved so im off down the scrappy to get the new winder bit-piece of piss to remove, couple of screws into roof lining and then the winder bit will just come out.
