Does anyone like me own a Nokia N95?!?

I personally think it's a brilliant phone for what you need, I have Tomtom and Route66 so handy as well...

But...
Its forever going wrong!! Originally I had 3 one a month basically, and since it's been brialliant never missed a beat. Now the external and actually telephone speakers are all distorted and crackerly... I've tried the "blowing and sucking" :D :tard: :p method but no luck... Then the phone wiped itself yeaterday.. Lost everything!!! So, updated the software hoping to sort the bugs out and still as F**KED as it was before...

Anyone else suffering with this problem? Looks like I'll be going to O2 tomorrow, but don't want a new one as I have all my software signed this this phone

My wife has a N95 and has had it replaced a couple of times. Her latest one seems fine and looks like various things have been changed.

I have a N95 8Gb, much better phone with improved speed and functions, never missed a beat.

I have a Nokia 6600 and have had it for 4.5 years. The longest I've ever had a phone and it still works perfectly.

I had this one for 8months now... And in the past Nokia have said update the firmware etc etc But this time its not sorted, and it isn't just one speaker its all the speakers that are distorted.

I'll have to give O2 a call later and demand action!

Had mine since December and its only crashed once, which was my fault. Both hardware and software have been flawless

BUT the first thing I did when I got the phone (well as soon as I got home) was crack the region code to a generic Euro one and flash the firmware up to the latest Nokia version - as opposed to the version Orange wanted me to have. That also removed all the crap orange front end stuff.

Comparible phones, I've had an NEC e616, Motorola something-or-other, 6680 and then N95 - of those, the NEC was the most unreliable phone EVAR (shame, it was a good layout and had potential), and the microphone broke; the Motorola was slow and kept crashing, and their menu layout/SMS system is rubbish. The 6680 was the same, slowed down after a few months and kept crashing, but had a load of gayhat orange software on it. Most of them started playing up after a few months.

Only annoyance with the N95 is the keys are too small and my sausage fingers keep pressing three at once lol

I would strongly recommend updating the firmware to the LATEST version, as I remember reading about how Nokia fixed a load of problems at some point due to early phones being poop. Bear in mind, as said above, you'll most likely need to crack the region code to get the most up to date firmware.

I've had an N95 since they first came out, great phone, probably could never downgrade to phone with less functions now. I've had a few common probs: freezing while closing apps, ramdon re-starts, caller can't hear you unless you toggle speaker on/off, sluggish when opening photos etc.

Like RJ says you need to upgrade firmware but it's worth finding out the correct way to do it and maintain all your saved files. A good forum worth reading is

Going to go in today and open up a can of whoop ass... The phone is now brilliant ont he new software, so much faster etc... I really wouldn't mind having it repaired as I have Tomtom and route66 signed etc so don't want to have to do all that again... Only problem is, I live in Coventry and going to take it into O2 in Watford.

We shall see what they have to say... I'd be pee'd off if I worked that and had to deal with people ranting about the same thing ona r egular basis!
