been having quite a few probs with the 20seh
been running 1.4spi fuel pump (hesitates low revs) so i put a 1.6/1.8 pump on a lot faster pulls like a train but on tick over and low revs it runs really lumpy and nearly cuts out after reving, it is also giving out black smoke from the exhaust, now i know the fuling is really bodged:
running 1.6/1.8 mpi in tank pump going to filter into rail buuut there is a stupid fse power boost valve on the return :tard: when i remove the fse it will not start:tard: i really want to get this sorted now as it's mot time and i know as it is it will fail, could this just be the fueling or is something else going on i know i need to find a standard fpr but i can not source this at the mo

The standard fpr has probably been removed, hence it wont start without the fse fitted.
Thats your problem imo

/\ i would have thought that but the fse is on the return,

Yeah, it controls fuel pressure...
Removing it means the fuel rail has no pressure=none starting engine.

ah gotcha so running lumpy could be something else or any idea where the standard fpr should be fitted,
i have asked this maney time and everyone so far says what i thought "fpr on the return??:tard:", so the fse could prob be setup to keep more pressure in while it was running the 1.4 spi pump and now could be to much due higher flow rate from the pump makes sence to me anyway, but would this cause the black smoke??

Do they not find it by car/year, could always try on mk2 cav website, they'll probably have one kicking about.
