Gearbox Oil

Right gearbox oil guys for my nova what type do i need and how do i fill it up?


P.S. I know its a stupid question but never had to do anything like this before

GM boxes use ATF (dexron III) and they take 1.7L (I tend to simply throw 2L in and sod messing about with the level bung lol)


do drain the box you need to take the diff cover off (messy) and replace the gasket... then fill from the breather that is near the clutch lever.

I dont wanna drain it i just wanna fill it up in relation into looking into the engine bay how do i fill it up?:thumb:

right, you will need to take the level bung out then lol.

its on the passenger side, just above the CV joint on the gearbox.

take that out, fill oil into the top of the box till it trickles out of the hole, replace the bung and then sling in another 200ml for luck.

you fill via the breather that is near the clutch lever.
