4speed linkage to 5speed?

Im going to be fitting a new 1.4 engine and 5speed to my 1.2 4speed and wondering about the gear linkage, is it the same?

Also while im here anythingi should know about when fitting my 1.4?

Yep, the 4 speed linkage will connect to the 5 speed box no problem. There is a tang (at the gear lever end iirc) which needs to be removed so you can select 5th gear though.

Thanks for the quick reply, just remove the gator to sort this "tang" Yes?

Another question, does anyone know if the shafts are the same, i know they should be but just checking.

Shafts & CV's etc will be fine.

The "tang" (WTF? lol) will be a piece of plastic clipped into the right hand side of where the gear lever is (under the gaitor) which on a 4sp prevents the lever going to where you can select 5th.
