It varies from insurer to insurer, some require the usage to be S&D only and to be a second car, others don't. You do tend to find you won't get a courtesy car on a classic policy if you do need any work doing, again its the whole second car ethos.

Bear in mind, most classic policies carry a limited mileage restriction, and don't earn (or use) any NCB. However, if you make a claim you'll still have it on your record.
