how much bhp do you think a professionally mounted 2 litre engine would give... obviously not easy without make, but would a vectra 2.0l engine fit?? :|

in a nova of course

this would have to be on my other one(1.2i) currently sitting in a bush... but should i try it...

don't see why it wouldn't fir - cav and astra ones do...

with regard to bhp figures - depends how it is set up really.

anywhere between 120 and 150 ?? I would imagine would be a good place to guess.

think a vectra ecotec is about 130 BHP and there is no reason why you wont get the same results, although go for the pre ecotec astra/cav engines your looking around 150BHP let me know what you decide can supply both types

No i am a doorman.

But a very good friend of mine runs a scrap yard and i get virtually first refusal on any stuff he gets, he also has a lot of contacts in the trade, if you are interested i have got 2 x C20 XE's & a 1400 16v at my diposal at the moment and if there is anything you need just ask and i will let you know the next day. I sold a turbo lump last month and he has got a bid on a cav turbo at the moment if he gets the car the engine is mine (too sale) i could have had a escort Cosworth engine a few months back for ?1k complete with T34 turbo and all the ancillaries, also there was a ST200 mondeo out a cop car still with the Cop engine management but the guy who runs the pace had that he is trying to fit into his MK2 RS2000
PM if your interested.
(as long as you can sort shipping etc)

as i said normally can get them next day, let me know if you want anything. I am off on a 3 month holiday in October, so if want any for the winter let me know.

what GRP A running gear are you using on your wide track Brian?

brian

the wide track kit is fully rose-jointed( i haven't 1 bushin up front, 2 in the whole car and they are poly bushes in rear beam) the wider track comes from new longer wishbones, tca's track rod ends etc, gp A balljoints(i had a standard one break a few years back with 17's on a gte and will never use anything other than these uniballs again) Bilstein gp A 2 1/4" coilovers up front wit tarmac spec springs (bout -40mm) and Bilstein rear shocks. Uniball adj topmounts (can create crazy camber for unreal roundabout handlin) i had to cut out the turret tops and weld in bigger ones for the top mounts (as in the pic in the feature)
basically all the underneath of the car came from Pro-Tec. its unreal!!!

sounds crazy! must have taken ages and cost a bloody fortune, i know rose jointed stuff is damn dear to get done but wont snap!

Did you get any stuff off of Iain Shirlaw?

brian

no, i don't know that Iain guy. it cost a bit alright but i wouldn't have been happy till i did it! had been lookin out for a spotless "93 shell for a while and eventually got it and started. don't plan on sellin the car so don't mind spendin a bit more than i normally would (or than the bank loan would let me spend!) :D

no was just wondering as Iain sells all rall parts and also delivers in Ireland once a month.
As to the cost that is the same as me as i know that i wont be getting back what ive spent, so i doubt i will ever sell it.
