what is peoples opinion on these ????
i have just orded one for my self but now im thinking twise about it.
i have seen on other sites and a vauxhall site say that its 20bhp up on the standed vxr . so what would that make them around 260bhp ????

i just dont know what to do , nurburg or just a bogo vxr ??

menny thanks kevin:thumb:

Depends tbh. Only advantages I can see is that its a limited edition, and it has a Reemus exhaust lol. Power wise, a remap will hike the figure up nicely anyway, thats all they will have done to the Nurburg one.

Whats the price difference? Arden Blue FTW :)

There is no power difference between the 2 cars.

And tbh with the price difference you've got id have the nurburg version for an extra 1.1k cos it will hold its money better, plus they look shexy in white. :thumb:

It's only the Remus that gives the power rise - 20 might be a bit optimistic. The map is standard issue - though already having £900 worth of exhaust makes stage 2 a whole load cheaper.

The wider track is due to the offset of the wheels they are apparently ET36 which is a 2mm difference either side over the original 18's. The suspension is stock.

Apart from the exhaust, the cars are mechanically identical. I'd have one tomorrow, the VXR looks great in white

First service is around £150

I've just paid £185 for my second, should have been £205 but they got the price wrong :)

Every year / 20000 miles whichever is sooner

The money holding thing is probably the best reason to go for one giving it more thought. 2K more, but with the exhaust included, you may save that money and more when you come to sell in the future.

hi kev, a mate of mine his dad has ordered 1 aswell and i no that the power is the same as the vxr, remus exhaust and 18s are standard but thats about it. only 500 being made:thumb:

IMO for a high performance turbo car, a 20K service interval is ludicrous! My diesel transit has a 15K interval!!!!!!!

Id do it ever 10 minimum, 8 if you really want to look after it.

Goddam vauxhall. Purely to get the cars on the fleet market :wtf:

Tis true, but I would hope no-one buys a Vauxhall as an investment :thumb:

I think they look cool, thought the checker would look 80's ford naff but I like it.

Amen brother...

Mitsibushi dont let the evo's go over 6k without an oil change, and there engines are far 'superior'.

Plus id service it myself, the services, are crap, most they do is change the oil filter and adjust the handbrake lol

They are making 835 VXR's and 835 OPC's.

It's to celebrate the lap record time of 8 minutes 35 seconds that the VXR achieved at the Nurburgring. :D

Yes indeed, and I agree about the fleet thing. I've always done interim oil changes on my cars so I'm not too bothered

Thats true, I'm sure it says something about them in this months TV.

Personally I'd have one as they look lovely in white, offer something a little more 'exclusive' (dare I say), and for once the salesman pitter patter makes sense as I imagine the special edition usually holds their value better!

Saying that its a bit of a farce having a special edition with no real performance or handling gains over a standard model.

i will have the first one at vauxhall then i will do the rest at work i think :)
all the ones i have seen on the net for 18k have 1500 miles on them and thinking about it would worry about how it had been driven . if you know what i meen lol

they must of thought i was a wierd o lol

Nürburgring will definitely hold more value over the standard VXR, even without all the toys. Hell, if (stupid) people pay extra for a 10 year old Celica WRC over the standard GT4, you can bet 10 years from now people will still be paying more for another badge on the back lol

Looks better than the VXR, but thats like saying Stephen Hawking is better looking than the elephant man :thumb:

lol I'm supposed to change my oil every 4500 miles (9k for full service). Some people do it every 3k :tard:

If your worried about aftermarket values, take one look at the Astra 888, both the mk4 and mk5.

I'd buy the 'ring nicer rarer car, having driven the 2. The extra money is well spent bare in mind you get the full leather as standard and the exhaust. How are you financing it? Vauxhall have some cracking deals at the moment for taking finance. You need any advice pm me, I know a thing or 2 about the subject lol

worth noting if you havn't ordered the special edition yet then you wont get one to your exact spec as the order banks got shut today, all 835 cars are now ordered but not sold, some cars will be available from vauxhalls central compound for delivery early july

Definately worth the extra money just for the exclusivity.

Yeah, pretty much all of them on VXROnline are swapping their VXR's for the 'berg edition lol

Love the idea of an astra VXR, but the raping from Number 11 really puts me (and probably most other future buyers) off

the dealer i went to round about 9 months ago quoted me £17,500 for a brand new red one with 19" wheel upgrade. i think the price was quite cheap because i was getting an 07 plate and they were releasing the 57 in a few weeks. still a brand new car though.

I saw one (Nurburgring edition) this morning, still in its wrapping & on trade plates. Being given a good thrapping on the dual carriageway. Sounded really nice, even heard it over my diesel Fiesta & the radio!

My mates picking his Nurburg VXR up on saturday... He got it for 19k on the road. And they have already been dyno'd at just below 260bhp hence the claims of 20bhp extra. Also it comes with full leather which I believe is a £1000 option on the normal VXR. And most importantly its White with Tints  I'd certainly buy one! Defo worth the extra money in my eyes. Will let you know what its like next week.
