sound deadening

What would you say is the best way to remove the tar like sound deadening in the front footwells heatgun and scraper???? :)

That's probably the best bet. Then some sort of solvent and scrubbing to get the remaining gluey stuff off. Probably require repainting once you've taken it off if you're not putting carpet back in.

The biggest part of the sound deadening comes off when cold, they come ouff in larger pieces. Only use the heat gun when you cant lift up anymore with the scraper.
