View Full Version : How do I remove the steering wheel?

right i know tottally wrong section but i need a quick reply

does any body know how to get the steering wheel off ? weve took the horn off and undone the bolt tryed pulling hammering twisting everything any one know if theres a got a knack to it ?

You need a steering wheel puller. You can buy them for around £10.

Try somewhere like rollings.

ok ta my dads tryin some tool looks like it mite work not to sure tho if not we'll have to take a trip out

Be careful about about hammering it, as you might damage the steering column.

Either get a steering wheel puller as Dan said, or lever it off with a large screwdriver.

sorted my dad got stressed cut it up and got draw pullys on it lol

admin can delete now :)

work your way to the inside of the hatchback lock & the key code is on it.

im with baxter, big hammer or just pull it off, ive never not been able to get one off and 1. I take them off all the time 2. never used a steering puller 3 never broken one either.

Dont use a hammer imho.
Its easy just wiggling it by hand.
