Hi looking to put an xe in my E reg MK1.

Obviously it has no cat, if i fit an xe engine from a car that had a cat would i need to put a cat on to pass the mot? or am i talking bolox?

no being the simple answer in short also if an enigne was fitted to say a 55 plate car but the engine doesnt use a cat you wouldnt do a cat test on emissons either

BET test is from August 1992 (K reg), and goes on whichever is older out of the engine or the car.

according to the MOT handbook, it will be required to have a basica cat test..

anything after 95 does, if the engine/car combo isn't listed on the computer, if it is, then it would have the cat test relivent to it
