I got a call of Ste tonight (Tuesday), just as I was leaving work... he had destroyed the 1 litre engine in the red car, he was about to fit his 1.5 on a carb lump. I told him I'd get sum tea then go and help him...

... I took the camera

When I arrived Rob was trying to finish off the 1.0 litre engine, it was running on 2 cylinders, but that wasnt enough for Rob.
Attempts to kill the engine included putting stones and random objects down through the oil filler cap, and Ste appeared with a watering can, the contents of which also went through the oil filler cap.

When we opened the garage door, I saw that Ste had been busy on the blue car, it has been fully stripped as you will now see...

Whilst peering into the car, Ste informs me that "thats where the batteries going" (behind the passenger seat).

The inside has been stripped of seam-sealer everywhere I could see...

When I looked up, the roof lining had gone!

We pulled the car out to get the 1.5 engine ready to go into the red car, I took some more pics.

You can see the whole of the 2.0 16v engine in this pic!

Here is the 1.5 SR engine that is going in the red car:

Ste was showing me his newly bought Harry Hockley chassis strenghening kit, so I got a pic...

Heres a pic of where all the plates weld onto...

I was just throwing away some un-needed paper in the bin when I thought "what was that" so I opened the bin again, and to my suprise there was a mint Nova SR grille wth GTE badge sat there. I took up Stes offer to dispose of this for him (cheers Ste).

There will most probably be a part 2 tommorrow (Wednesday), the engine will most probably be in by the time I finish work tho...

:D mental - get him to do a big ste garage! That would make great reading - doing up a 2ltr conversion!

Reminds me of when my car was stripped like that. I miss doing my project - got itchy feet for another one... :(

Cant believe he killed that engine! God thats brutal! :x

Nice that its being replaced with a decent lump

Does Ste collect doors or something... :?

Well smart!

Stes legendary garage with all the nova spares you could ever need. In one pic i can see 5 doors, a bonnet and a tailgate.

Whats teh spec on the 1.5 block? Heard good things about it in the past from mingle.
