Easy.

Get a c16xe -Bolts straght in.

Change te bottom pulley to a single V of a 8v

Mod the exhaust downpipe to fit the nova system

Wring is piece of piss.

Thats pretty much a quick 10 sec guide!

16 16v from an astra does just about fit in a nova bay.

Dont beleive the hype lol
Ive been fitting mine for near a week :tard:  lol

Saying that though, my biggest mechanical acheivement before tackling this was changing a gearbox :wtf:

considering the blocks are fairly identical, everything else is just a case of making it fit. I reckon it would take about a day from start to finish.
when I stuck a 1.6 8v into my 1.0 it took 4 hrs but I'd done it a few times before

You got a wiring guide? I've two Novas here with 16v Ecotecs in them that I cant get wired. And Adam, I know I know. They should have been done ages ago but I just cant get my head round the wiring.

What model of Nova is the engine going into?

As for power the 8v is 100bhp, but the 16v if an XEL will be about 90bhp, however the potential is far greater with the 16v due to valve area in the head mainly. Fit a powerbox inlet & it'll go beyond the 8v instantly.

What about the transponder, key chip and imobiliser?

Its all taken care of by the ECU. So long as the key is kept from the donor car/matches ECU & the pick up sensor is retained.

My C16XE is wired in on 6 wires. I just soldered a GTE 8v plug to the XE engine loom & plugged it straight onto my car loom. Not quite as straight forward on a non GTE/GSi car but the wires are basic. Its just a matter of locating them & running them to a common place & connecting.

Right, I'm doing a 1990 1000cc Nova. Any chance you can do up a wiring diagram or do me a list of what way its all to be wired cuz I'm at my witts end at the moment. I had a good long convo with Adam about it but i reckon he was near breaking point with me!!

lol lol

Seriously mate, mine took about 10minutes to wire.
The immobiliser system is about 5/6 wires.....

Pickup-(wire colour/function)

Red-Batt 12v
Black-Ign live
Brown-Earth
Brown/Blue-ECU light
Blue/red 1-From speed sensor
Blue/red 2-To the ecu thin blue/red speed sensor input
Brown/Yellow-Ecu diagnostics

The rest aren't needed.

And then the ecu wiring is just the same as any other conversion
Red-12v
Black-Ign
Red/Blue-Fuel pump
WILL see the engine running.

I believe so, corsa ones are too long.
