vynal is comming off and yes i do have the door peices :)

No worries, I've fitted, removed, fitted and removed these loads of times before so I share the burdon you're about to have!!
Best bet is to fit the trims to the window wubber with the window in place but be very careful as these bend and kink very easily.
Why not get 2 pieces of Vynal from a Graphis shop and extend your own? I tried it and it worked pretty well!!
CoolTiger

if you use the car daily get that primer painted over - even if its just with rattle cans.
Primer absorbs moisture and the metal underneath will rust. If youre getting the car painted anyway you may as well just spray over the primer to stop more damage - especially in winter!
Looks really nice though...
Cav slabs look ace in black on her mate. Are those tyres 50s or 45s? Do they catch at all?

updates coming tomorrow
if sunny - fit skirts
if rainy - electric windows central locking + find flat battery problem
can anybody tell me where the wires to link in the electric window and central locking loom are lol
All you have to do is fit it into the two lower plugs on the fusebox, you may need to run a IGN live.
CoolTiger
15-11-08, 09:18 PM
no alex i dont want to bodge it
Welsh Dan
15-11-08, 09:19 PM
No thats right, the looms plug into the fusebox, but your fusebox might not have a supply there so you may need to run an additional one to it.
CoolTiger
15-11-08, 09:35 PM
ta :) will figure out more tomorrow i was thinking the wires went on the left hand side of the car for some reason
Welsh Dan
15-11-08, 09:38 PM
The central locking control box sits above the passenger side footwell, but it all plugs into the fusebox.

Pictures show that its a rubbish nova..... Only kidding, love you really lol
Grrr get the bumpers heat gun'd and bumper gel'd!!!
And once ther paintings done it will be lovely, it has a great overall look/stance:thumb:
Looks pretty good mate, tbh if you use decent bumper gel then there is no need for heat guns but either way get it done:thumb:
Ad - catch me on msn later, i know the stuff to use on your bumpers, what i did mine with.
Closest decent product to the stuff used in the trade is autoglym bumper care, it seems to be same stuff as auto-smart bumper gel and is sh!thot stuff:thumb:
I wouldnt know about those tbh but i did my bumpers with turtle wax platinum series, havnt faded much since it put it on about 2months ago.
CoolTiger

CoolTiger
22-11-08, 05:18 PM
great havent read the instructions yet lol will to soon tho today was a mess about and try and get a good picture i was getting annoy wondering why is was dark in daylight then messed with the shutter speed and that fixed it, how do you get too 1/4000, all i can get upto is 1/2000
vaughanmc
22-11-08, 05:54 PM
Does look good Adam lad, nice drop on it as well
Wish mines sat as low as yours, for them both being '60mm'
Welsh Dan
22-11-08, 06:04 PM
I'm not sure tbh, on mine I can't go beyond certain shutter speeds with the flash on.
edit: dad says it'll only do it when the subject is bright enough, or possibly in full manual. Anything faster than 1/30 is usually fast enough to be sharp though.
2 things.
1 - dont spend a packet on bumper gel when you can use smooth peanut butter to get just as good a finish for a fraction of the price!
2 - what kind of camera are you using? the reason why some of the pics are coming out dark is because the camera is getting confused beetween the brightness of the sky and dark colour of your car - the contrast is too great and it cant compensate.
If you expose for the car (dark) then the sky is too bright or just white (blown out).
If you expose for the sky (bright) then the car is too dark.
The best option is to expose for the sky.
you can resolve this in 3 ways -
A - expose for the sky and use a "fill flash" to lighten the foreground (car). Fill flash basically means use your flash.
B - expose for the sky and adjust the shadows and highlights in photoshop later (if you have it).
C - if your camera's an slr you can use a graduating Neutral Density filter (ND Grad) - this darkens the upper part of the frame, allowing the camera to accurately record the light levels.
You cant recover blown out highlights but but your camera can record a large range of darks and you've more chance of brightening these.
You can also use the Dodge and Burn tools in photoshop to lighten (dodge) or darken (burn) specific areas - takes some practice but worth it!
Hope this helps...
also re the 1/2000 and 1/4000 shutter speeds...you dont need to go this high unless your pointing the camera at a very bright object like the sun (not recommended as you can damage the sensor).
To get this high you need to adjust the ISO or lens apeature.
The faster the shutter the more "still" an item appears (eg you wont see grass blurred on a windy day or wheels on a car will be static in motion).
As a rule of thumb - to prevent camera blur your shutter speed should be twice your focal length (this depends on your camera). So if your focusing on something thats 200m away (on a zoom lens) then your shutter should be more than 1/400sec.
Ade - Just for your info, adam will be spraying his rear bumper so dosnt want to have a lot of effort to get the paint to stick, the front may end up getting treated im told, as hes got a Gsi front bumper. But anyway as soon as he finds a drivers door the car will get a respray.

I'm really liking this. What colour are you gonna spray it? I say keep it the same colour. The wheels work really well with the colour and I think with colour coded bumpers but skirts same colour as wheels. Anyone car to photoshop? (I don't have it)
Il reply to both of you (Yes i talk to cooltiger WAYYYY too much)
Hes doing it the same colour, with black bumpers and skirts to save having the wheels repainted.
The twin fog has come out again due to the idiot putting his finger through it! lol

I still think you should consider painting the bumpers body colour. Its a dark enough colour it will look ace. With the skirts black and then if you keep the laguna splitter you're on a winner.
Any care to photoshop?
