I'm replacing my 1.2 with a 'special' 1.4 with once of these carbs on, will my 1.2 throttle cable work, or do i need to source another, if so where from ?

1.2 cable are ball type the 1.3 \1.4 are barrel nipple type. I reckon you will need a 1.3\ 1.4 cable. Any factor should have one. Thats if it is a std vauxhall replacement, if it is a DMTL from something else iy may be a case of see what fits!

any idea where i can get a 1.3/14 throttle cable from, both my factors can not get them

Scrappy/Scrap car...

Also check if ebay etc has any universal cables that may work.

iv told you my local with novas in, is a 80mile round trip lol
