My FTO has never been undersealed and has been in the country since Aug last year. I know I probably should have had it undersealed before the winter but I didn't have enough cash at the time.
Now the weathers nice I'm thinking about cracking out a paper suit and doing it myself. I'm not worried about getting it in my hair as I don't really have any.
Has anyone got any tips or recommendations to products?
I don't mind spending a bit of money to get a decent job. :thumb:
Make sure the chassis is 100000% dry and clean.
Undersealing over dirt/water/rust, speeds up the corrosion spread.....
Apart from that, slap it on... Lol

If you have access to a compressor and a shultz gun it will make the job easier and more effective and give a more consistent coat.
Brushing it on can give an unevencoat and leave small areas exposed.

Not sure if it'd be suitable or not.
Think its 40psi.
Any ideas of any rust protection/inhibitor products to use first?

i would doubt it will supply enough volume if its for air brushing, the pressure will drop in about 2 secs of using the gun. and will probably struggle to lift it out the tin.
get it clean and bone dry as said, warm the underseal in the house or a basin of hot water so its runny, then spray away.
theres really not much to it. use waxoyl or simelar for the inside of cavities/chassis leg/sill sections. dont spray underseal on bits you wish to paint as the paint will disolve it, use stone-chip in these areas of beauty.
and dont apply it on mums lock-block ;)

I think your right about the compressor.
Looks like its 1/8 of a hp and only 50psi max with a few litre tank.
I did find a dinatrol undersealing kit.
£80 gets you a pre-rust inhibitor, first coat for flat areas, top coat and a product suitable for cavities plus a bag of plugs.
Shultz gun is another £10 on top so I might just phone round for quotes lol.
