After the big cider conversation that hijacked Ernies Magners thread (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96700) I thought it'd be an interesting topic to see what everyone drinks.

I like all sorts but mostly Vodka or Cider :). I'm always willing to try shots and stuff, my mate's brother works for some kind of alcohol importers so my mate regularly turns up at ours with a bottle of some random thing. The best one has to be "Dragons Breath", it's a REALLY hot "aromatised wine" that you have as a shot and contains butterscotch schnapps, chillies and rosemary.

Also, sambuca rocks!

on a weekday - carling

on a weekend - stella

on a bender - both of the above, plus wine, cider, vodka, shots of any kind, aftershave, lambrini, turbo shandys, cans i've stolen from tramps in the park, anything alcoholic left in bins...........you get the idea lol

Black Sambuca, Cherry Sours And Coke ;) what a drink..

2shots of 'Buca, 2shots of Cherry Sours, Into Half a Half a Tumbler?? Yummy

or try it with out the Sambuca and you have Cherry Coke ;)

Either that or a turbo shandy wins me over..

Bottle of Smirnoff ice into a pint glass topped with Stella or Becks

In real pubs, its real ale :D the sillier named the better.
in semi poncey pubs (you know, the gay sort that serve bottled cider on ice) I'll have petermans/san miguel/czec lager.

at home, bottles of red wine tend to vanish fast here lol.

and of course Jaegerbombs :D

Being a zurumerzet lad, im a born and breed zider drinker - HATE magners and all this over ice bollocks tho lol
burrow hill, stowford press and the like is where its at.

also into my cheq and italian lagers - Staroprarmen, Budvar, Pironi to name a few.

Dabbled with shot's when I was younger but consummed to much of nearly everything and can even look at some of them now - Does anyone elses stomach turn at the smell of Red Bull BTW? (vodka + RB flashbacks? lol)

EDIT: oh and italian wine when at a meal or home, red or white - im easy

Same with tequila for me! (way too much consumed when younger)

Just finished off some 'Castillo San Lorenzo Rioja, Reserva 2003' from Tesco. highly recommended :thumb:

I like the real ales and Guinness. Also like Pear Cider - way too sweet but very nice - then when I'm full of bubbles I'll turn to shorts - Bullet and ginger, JD&C etc...

My missus works for diageo the drinks manufacturer so theres a plentiful supply of booze at my place! Although oddly I dont drink that much...

Red wine at home or dinner parties/meals. I have a recently started collecting and have some choice wines in my rack.
However being a student I spend most my days drinking all sorts of sheeeite mainly from the local student club Jesters - jesticles £3 (double white rum, double vodka, orange juice and a dash of blackcurrant in a pint glass), Quad-vods £3 (4 vodkas, orange juice, pint of), pints of snakebite/purple (80p on mondays) and also they do wine for £3 a bottle (rough as a bears bottom) mate strawpedo'd one and went missing for 2hrs, doesn't know where he went but he returned to the club muddy
Also most spirit combos (i have 21 bottles of assorted spirits on my shelf in my room currently :))

Interesting, Our students Union and most other "studenty" places around here wouldn't beable to serve anything near as lethal ! You'd have to buy it seperatly and make it yourself !

For me, its whatevers cheap. Kronenburg is a staple diet, and then i'm partial to anything.. as long as it isn't luminous and an alcopop !

dosent the fear of going blind worry you? or is that part of the "fun" :D

Off wine "tasting" tomorrw :) Will be good for getting mind numbingly hammered on good quality wines (the cheapest is usually £20 a bottle) for a mere £25 entry fee lol

I'm a JD girl, although I drank quite a bit of vodka and didn't get a hangover...result!:thumb:
At our SU once, I had what everyone else was drinking which was known as a Kermit. Now I couldn't tell you what was in it, but after two pints of this green concotion I was very merry. :D

Straight vodka or anyway I can get my hands on it.

Also quite frequently spend a tenner on a decent bottle of champaign.

JD & guiness or a Kronenburg etc on a nice hot day. Dont mind a pint of flat Pedi or Bass every so often.

Dod
18-04-08, 10:17 AM
Jameson or Powers Irish Whiskey, 3 per pint glass, 1 bottle of coke to sweeten it and 6 Ice Cubes and shots, Baby Guiness.

The thing is, I try not to drink, as do my mates. Occationally we all go on a bender but it usually ends up in a massive fight, some broken noses and a night in the cells. But then again, we are Irish.

Lmfao! i've been there and done that, only i didn't make it back to the club.............i was awoken at 3pm the next day by the police, caked head to toe in mud. My boss had rang them after phoning around all the local hospitals because i didn't turn up for work lol my mate who i was out with had gone to my work to see if i was ok, he told my boss 'last time i saw him he was getting escorted out of the club by 5 bouncers carrying him by his undies' lol

boss was not impressed!

Anything flammable lol

Good ole favourite for Summer BBQ's with the lads is a Bloody Liary, which consists of - Half a pint of 4 star (Or LRP equivilent) 1 bottle of Tobasco sauce and 4 shots of Polish drink mixer (around 70% proof) in a pint glass. Anymore then 2 result in a stomach pump tho :(

When im out on the town, PV, camping etc its mostly sambuca, £40 bottles of Champagne for the missus and loads of vodka/absinth and assorted spirits for me.

18-04-08, 03:46 PM
hmmm.
Depends on mood. At the moment, John Smiths and Tetleys if I feel like bitter or some bizzare named real ale. Lager then it will be something like Fosters, Zywiec (polish), Mythos (Greek) - I have to import that, Carlsberg, Kozel, Amstel, I could go on!! Snake bite and black from my uni days :)
Spirits, mainly Jack D but will also consume SoCo, Vodka, Rum or Ouzo. Quite enjoy making funky cocktails too lol. Made one the other day that was 3 or 4 different colours haha. Ouzo and Fanta lemon is quite nice.
Been known to indulge in kestrel, absinthe and pochine (not together lol)

anything except
1. any vodka based drinks (including stag night 'cocktails')
2. anything with bols (yellow flavour)
3. advocaat
4. jack daniels or its clones (they taste like teachers only rougher)
5. teachers
6. any drink that has a colour that is not naturally occuring as a liquid.
7. smirnoff ice (back in the seventies it was called vodka & bitter lemon & my gran drank them)
8. really expensive snobby red wine that 'tastes of cordoruoy & corrugated tin on a dewy morning' when all it tastes of is vinegar & the barrel it was stored in.
9. ginger ale

most things except
Wine (exept with a meal)
& Alco-pops are ****
vodka does me no favours at all, but people seem to offer me it:wtf:
Not touching Absenth (spelling) again for a while (how can they sell a drink thats 70% legally!)
Generally stick to my larger and cider, will have spirits if im on a mission

Jack

My first choice would be an ale - I like most ales, Satanic Mills, badger stuff, Abbot, Adnams, Speckled Hen, Butcombe are my favourites.

Single malt whiskey is good, I also have a penchant for southern comfort and vodka (smirnoff) - the latter of which I have a habit of shoving copious amounts into things like john smiths ("never ending pint" is a pint of john smiths which keeps getting topped up with vodka each time you drink from it lol)

I like most new world wines, can't stand most European stuff though.

Also like tramp fodder (special brew) which gets me rather drunk, rather quickly. As anyone alt PVS07 can vouch for lol

Dry local ciders are usually a win too.

Don't like Jack Daniels, Baileys, alcopops and cheap faux "wine", fizzy lagerbeers (carling, fosters, etc), on-tap ciders (magners, thatchers, strongbow, blackthorn etc).

NovaLad
18-04-08, 08:26 PM
Love my whiskeys (take after my dad)

Adam

my favourite drink ever was 'Ruddles County' when it was still made in rutland. in the nineties they got bought out, the brewery got flattened & they started to make it in the morland brewery in Abingdon. it tasted like supermarket own brand ale.....they then moved it to Suffolk, & it still doesn't taste the same.......It was justifiably the 'king of real ales'

these days tanglefoot is my fave beer.
I will drink Grouse, but a really good hebridean single malt is what does it but at £25+ a bottle, I have to save up.
