White is a) extremely gay
b) extrememly chav and c) hard to keep clean

So I would say half black! :)

They both look superb Mark, that alcantra roof lining cant of been cheap though? Thats whats puting me off alcantra, because if i get the seats done il want the roof done too. Which cant be cheap.

I done the roof myself mate in my old kitted nova, just removed the old vinyl headlining, unstiched it and used it as a template for the stuff i got, then stiched it all back together.

The stuff i had was buckskin if i remember rightly, got it from my local upholsterer for about 40 quid was plenty to do the roof

Dont have a clue how much they charge, going to phone them this week and ask. Going to ask about alcantra with roof lining and b pillars, doubt it will be cheap though :(

We quite often have full leather retrim invoices come through work.
Normally around £1000.

Just gave Trascal a phone, there the people near me that do retrims. They dont do headlinings or pillars. And are wanting just over a grand to do the seats and door cards. About the price i was expecting really, anyone know of any places that do rooflinings? Even if it means sending it down south.

SQ Plus will do them... and they're **** hot mate!
They're based in Manchester, but I would reccomend them over anyone for interior modifications.

i'd go full leather, leaving the standard centres looks like you're a cheap ass and couldn't afford a full retrim!

plus, brand new leather next to 12year old cloth just doesn't look right :tard:

Is that not the same place that Rick got his turbo nova interior done?
Going to give them a call tomorow, only problem i can think of is it will be bloody expensive to take the whole interior down, unless i rent a van and drive it down myself.

wilson - do it yourself - that's what I'm planning. Like cheeze says the headlining and pillers are easy and you can buy a mmaterial called Faux suede which for the roof and pillars (which dont see alot of rubbing action) will look just as good - it even has that brushed effect alcantara has but for a fraction of the price.

I'm planning on doing my own seats. Me mum did mine for me on me last rebuild a few years ago but I had to take them apart and rebuild them - its not easy but very rewarding. Unfotrunately I used the wrong type of material (too thin) so the weave started to come loose however this time round I've purchased some proper material in a suede black complete with foam backing - really good price from ebay. The quality ios superb and its really tight weave. The guy I got it from imports it from italy and uses it for wheelchairs, inner supports for linings of shoes for disabled people!

well are you going to do the headlining or door cards first?

wilson_sri
17-04-08, 09:16 PM
headlining

retrimmer-oz
17-04-08, 09:18 PM
well if you measure yours then compare to sizes on ebay!always remeber to allow for matreial to fold over the sides and back and staple tho!you could always do the headlining in sections!say 3 sections then sew them together?that way you wont need such a big roll?

wilson_sri
17-04-08, 09:22 PM
would love to measure it, but its away at paint just now and dont know when il get it back! lol

retrimmer-oz
17-04-08, 09:24 PM

retrimmer-oz
17-04-08, 09:26 PM
110cm wide

retrimmer-oz
17-04-08, 09:28 PM
160cm long that should be enough to fold over aswell but just to make sure i would go for maybe 120cm wide and 170cm long that way you can always trim it down!

wilson_sri
