1.4 into a 1.0

Hi,

My mate has a 1.4 8v carb engine out of an old Astra, can't remember what year but I could find out. The 1.4 doesn't go in on 1.0 mounts if I remember correctly?

So what exactly would be needed? I could use my wiring etc? just different mounts?

A 8v OHC drivers side engine mount.
Then just wire the ign coil to your car loom(you will need a new ign 12v to the coil, as the 1L wire is a ballast resistor, which doesn't work correctly with a 1400 coil)

It must be quite an old astra to be a 1.4 8v carb engine.

So the original mount with the engine is what I'm after.

Yeah its from a mk1 or 2, think it may have been an estate, not sure, it ages since I seen the pic of the car.

My standard 1.0 4 speed gearbox would fit etc?

Just asking these questions for future reference!
