Had a little misfire problem and once i stripped the head down today i found this.....

#3 exhaust valve!


Never thought a simple missfire could be the result of something like this lol
New valve, headgasket and bolts soon fixed the problem, and i also thought while im at it i'd fit my kent ast2 cam!!
what a difference the cam has made, its soo quick for a little 1400sr lol

yeh it happens.we had a polo in at work for a mis-fire and turned out to be a broken valve.damaged the bore and all.

lol luckily mine was the exhaust valve so some poor chap behind me last night must have the broken piece of my valve embedded in his grille lol!!

my gsi used to run real lumpy and crap and when i stripped it down i found that none of the valves had even been ground in! not one of them was gas tight

true.u did escape luckily considering it could have fallen into the cylinder and munched up your piston.
