Is this an sr?

ive just got a new engine for my nova and the guy siad is was a 1.4 it is carb!but when i looked at the engine number is was 14nz the same a 1.4sr what was the differnce between the 1.4 sr(82) and the standars 1.4 carb(72bhp)?

Just to clear something up... The 1.4 carb in an SR was 72bhp, it was the 1.4 MPI in an SRi that was 82bhp.

what carb does it have? sr's come with pierburg 2e

Not sure about the carb but I believe both 1.4 carbs make the same power. Also make the same power as the 1.3s, I had a 1300 astra engine fitted to my nova and that had the 2e carb fitted to it.

Errrm no its not? 14NZ is SPi iirc...

14NV = Carb (i.e. SR engine)
14NZ = SPi engine
C14NE = MPi engine (i.e. SRi)

The carb engine is the same whether its in an SR or any other model.
