16/8v. mutipoint inject. can it be remaped

Iam racing a 16/8v mutipoint injection. (gsi)

Can the std brain/ecu be chiped.

Not allowed to use racing ecu/brains

is there someone on site done this.

Generic Superchipped yes. Wouldn't change much powerwise though.

5-7 bhp. You will be lucky! Seriously, dont bother.

Any ECU can be remapped by Stu at MSD in Blackpool IIRC. Its a question of wether its cost effetive. You'll be looking at hundreds of pounds to have it live mapped by Stu, but as the rules dictate what you can & can't modify, it may be the only option.

for such a little improvement you would be as well advancing the base timing best you can. it will slightly offset the injector pulse, but the few degrees adv in the ign timing will probably find you a simelar gain to figures quoted above. i dont know what you use the car for (racing?) you may loose a bit of torque low down but if its singing all day on the power you might get away with it.
worth a try but be carefull. mark the distributor before you start moving it.

I believe only the bosch jetronic version can be remapped as found on the E16SE, and not the multec as found on the C16SE.
