Breeze Blue XE project!

I've been telling my self im going to build a nova xe for a long time now, however after 5 years of owning novas... the fastest i have ever owned was a 1.4sri lol!!

Time for a change, thanks to Riggy i found this beauty

After picking it up and trailering it home, i had to wash it lol

I then striped the interior and sorted out all the wiring for door release button, leccy windows and boot release button.

I then refit the interior, resprayed the steering wheel and got all the dash electrics working. i also put the boot release switch where the heated seat switches go.

My mate L33LEG treated my car to a night in his garage lol... so we fitted clear rears, and GSi window trims (not pictured)

I have bought a few goodies for the nova tho i am now skint...

powerflow s/s exhaust system, brand new GSi grille badge, remote central locking and a calibra 2l 16v as a doner car!! will get some pics soon :D

went to take the engine out of my calibra tonight, damn those things are heavy lol will post pics up tomorrow once i have given it a power wash!!

just need to get my old mounts of my 2l 8v then source a pair of driveshafts (any offers lol)

Gave engine a good clean today tho no pictures lol, swapped my f20 box for an f16, should hopefully be in the car by end of next week depending on whether i get hold of a full set of mounts!! lol

I swapped it as the f20 was from a 4wd calibra and i couldnt be bothered changing the diff over to accept a drive shaft!

Todays update... engine finally in yesterday took a little longer than expected but thankfully nothing was damaged in the process lol, still need the o/s/f engine mount though lol

Today i began wiring up the engine, fitting coolant pipes, radiator fan (which i stupidly left till after the engine was in :tard: ) clutch cable and throttle cable

I only hope that once i have an o/s/f mount fitted it will lower the engine at the front as it looks like it sitting a wee bit high!! (could just be the bell housing is resting on an axle stand lol!!)

another quick update, got my altenator pulley back today after having it machined down. its all beginning to come together now :D

Todays job was getting the suspension and brakes refitted, then i began fitting the oil cooler. got it in place with cable ties for now, just need to make brackets...

lol the bumper is only resting on, no bolts in etc as it getting a gsi bumper once all the other work has been done, same with the grille, its not held in place yet ;)

It is now fitted, all holes ligned up perfect, engine doesn't fowl bonnet, it sits correctly in the bay. im dead chuffed lol

And finally, i did have GSi door cards but there were speaker holes in them so i didn't like them. i decided to see what it would look like if i used SRi cards and GSi black handle (to try blend in with GSi black dash!) All comments welcome as im still unsure lol

Today i had my brother helping me so we tackled all the littly tiny jobs which needed doing:

Rear brake line flexies
Wire up fuel pump
replace o/s/f headlamp and rad wiring (which riggy melted lol)
drain the crap out of fuel tank
re route boot solenoid wiring so its hiddenMy bro soldering the headlamp loom

Got a GSi front bumper for £15...what a bargin!! just needs painting matt black,

fitted air horns for mot, re-fitted my gsi door cards an put some corsa sri front seats in temporarily untill i can afford bucket seats.

slowly getting there, it only needs:

22spline shafts+cv's
2x front wheel bearings
exhaust welding up
2 new tyres
mot
tax
GSi skirts fittingi really hope i can get it to pv lol

Also i neded some way of opening the passengers door for mot so like the drivers side, i have placed a button under the mirror wired to a solenoid. works fine but door some times sticks shut so little bit of adjusting needed lol

A big thanks to adam (white2lsr) who sold me a set of 22 spline shafts, went and picked them up on sunday, hopefully getting some inners this week. should be done very soon the "to do list" is slowly getting shorter! cant wait till she's finnished now

niether am i, just swapped with my brother so he could have an original bumper for pv, however once i fitted it i actually like it :) it does need the front pannel spraying black, it alredy has black mesh tho :thumb:

well its been a while since i've given an update on this...

I finally got it on wheels, suspension and brakes fitted etc.. towed the car to my dads house to have the exhaust welded up. my dad did a mint job on the exhaust but then when we tried to start it we had a huge list of problems.

after 2weeks of scratching our heads, a few new parts and alot of time and money wasted it finaly ran. woohoo lol i got all the lights working, dash warnings etc for mot. she went for her mot today and to my amaisment it passed!!! the only car i have ever owned/built which has passed first time lol i'm over the moon. got it insured tonight and drove it home from test station, drives soooo nice, no wobbles or vibrations etc, gear linkage slightly out of line (tried to set off at lights and went unexpectidly backwards...doh) its getting taxed on monday i cant wait. pics to follow once its lowered (looks stupid on standard springs!!)
