anyone know roughly how much it would cost to to convert my mild GSi into a fire breathing 16 valve beast. I`m thinkin of doing it myself but I can`t really be arsed.

?3500 (roughly) from courtenay sport and about ?3000 to ?3500 from regal, just novas is cheep if you suply the parts and if you dont it's around ?2000 to ?2500 I THINK

Looks like its gonna be the hands on approach then. I reckon me n a mate of mine who`s 16v nova is in bits on his drive due to a rotten engine bay could do it for about 1500 quid. All i need now is a cheap astra 16v with a good engine if there is such a thing.

You should be able to DIY it for a grand or so, 1500 absolute tops.
Its only a weekends work for someone who is well prepared, paying a couple of grand labour is total madness.

yep its only cost me a lot of money because ive had to buy all the tools as I only had a screw driver and hammer :(

assumin you have a well equiped garage you could easily do a conversion for under a grand (assuming your engine costs less then ?500)

Phone Kev on 07967757736 as he's breaking a 2 Litre 16 valver due to it failing the MoT. It'll be cheaper than brand new parts.
