Posting on behalf of a mate, he's got an 85 1.2 carb and the sender unit packed up, so he's replaced it with one of a later model but now its reading full when he's got an empty tank.

Any ideas?

My dad had that years back but it wasnt on a nova so not sure if its possible.

My mate thinks its to do with the resistance that the sender regulates but he's still not totally sure.

does it stay on full all the time or just when the tanks gettin empty?

if its saying full all the time chances are the float is stuck....

Polarity wrong on wiring? Dead short would read a full tank?

I would imagine that the sender resistance wouldn't be different. Basically a potentiometer that varies from 0 to 100%. The nova tank shape hasn't changed either so my best guess is a problem with an installation.

What does the tank read when: full, 1/2 full and empty? Always full?
