nowt wrong with mesh, maybe he wants to stop his small pecker jumping out the engine bay lol
The plain black slats look so boring though...

Easiest way is to cut the mesh, start forming round the back of the grill... make sure its nice and tight and just use some panel adhesive.
I was going to go for black mesh, as I have just sprayed all the body mouldings matt black, grab handles, door handles, lock surrounds, wiper plastics etc.
The next job is painting the bumpers, but i'd like to get a GSi bumper before I do the front.
I also plan on doing the bottom quater of the car (i.e. under the bumpstrip) in black. I'm just a bit worried about sanding off all that bodywork. Sanding and painting little plastic trim off the car is all well and good, start painting the body is completely different.
Could really use tips as in what paint to use, tips for prepping, how best to paint inside the sills inside the door without spraying my interior etc.
Look on the Sticky Section in the Styling Main page. Its chocked full of info there.

Still got these straight edge skirts... they'd look nice sprayed black to match.
the thing holding me back on those matt, is the front of the rear arches have started to rot out, in the place they always do. I've sanded and primed them to an extent, but i think the damage is too much as it is rusting inbetween the skins.
I have no where near the ability to carry out panel repairs to that extent, and can't afford to have it done professionally. I don't want to whack the skirts over it and forget about it as it'll just get worse.
I'm a bit stuck as to what to do really. I guess I need to save up and have it prefessionally repaired. Could anyone on here give me an estimate as to the costs?
I'll get pics.

As you can see, one side i've tried to slow it by sanding back as much as I could and then primering it.

2x arch repair panels about ?20 each to buy, anywhere between ?50-500 to fit lol
I dont think they'd even need that. Get it round to your local Body Repair Shop and see what they say, but allow roughly at a guess, ?250.
It really isnt worth it then is it....
How could I minimize any further damage myself and then just leave it as it hoping it doesnt get any worse.
Whens the MOT up? Drive it til then and after that, reivaluate the situation then.
MOT is toward the end of summer.
I would like to have got some skirts on it by then though. That is why I asked if there is something i can do to stop the corrosion and then once it's safe, just mask it with skirts, at least for a while until can afford to have it professionally looked at.
