thinking of getting some new show plates and was just wondering, has anyone used velcro to attach number plates? more to the point was it strong enough to hold the plate while going down the road etc?

i just think it would be much easier because then you could simply switch the plates when you wanted.....

I used to use it, was fine holding my plates at 155mph!

im sure theres some sort of law stating they have the be perm fixed to the car

It would be plenty strong enough if you velcro'd the whole plate, (not just two strips if you see what I mean).

In fact i rekon it would be bastid hard to get em off if you did that, which would be good.

i use velcro on all my plates, i'd recommend the 3" waterproof pads from halfords (black and yellow box). had problems with the velcro not stayin attached to the plates with other brands.
