My Blue Nova made 187bhp, Novacabrio's made 193bhp (it ran steady 183's until the last bloody run, with more revs!) so beat me by 6, as you can tell by his rear window!!
Grey XE ran 148bhp, Sport Ran 101bhp, Astra GSi on Turbo rims made 155bhp, Black GTE ran 114ish I think??

My Coupe Turbo on the rollers. Wasn't happy though, only made 189bhp :wtf:, however ECU light is on (fuel trim malfunction). Believe it needs a new front lambda sensor. The guy said it felt like a different car each time he ran it! lol

Well Lanes rollers are usualy spot on, everyone else's car ran more or less as expected, Spec is SBD 208 kit, (208 I belive stands for the BHP level so it should be higher), MBE management, 7900 rev limiter, rod bolts and it had a service recently. It pulled 184 BHP last year.

Is that Stuart standing corrected? Engine is standard internaly exc the bolts. So power gain is purely from throttle bodies. Management is part of the bodies so isnt realy further part of the spec, and I belive Nick had it live mapped on the road? But I could be mistaken

SBD's kit figures are based on mapping to older pump fuel. They dont get them figures nowadays. I think Mark should be chuffed with that tbh.

Yep the car was mapped by Steve Broughton on the road near his unit.. fascinating watching him... we would go for a blast with all his gear attached, wires galore through passenger window lol we would then stop in a layby, engine off... have a look whats happening, make some changes then go out again.. very reasonable cost as well...:thumb:

When i first got to SBD it was running very rich (wouldnt pass mot..) and drinking fuel.. he attached all his lamda gear.. checking evrything over.. air being breathed per throttle was spot on etc everytingn i had done he was happy with.. once he did his checks he replaced the spark plugs from Bosch Super 4's the NGKR's.. emmisions came right down to better than ever! :thumb:

While i was there i added carbon spark plug cover.. job done..

One thing i did have to do was change the rad switch/thermostat (found at the bottom of the rad..)... it was not keeping the van on long enough and it was hindering the map or sommit.. he could tell from using Easimap software.. once i changed that when i was home the car seemed better still :thumb:

On the way there from stockport i used about ?40 in juice on the way home i got back on ?20!! :D

I have to say the engine in my old car, is a minter... its been spot on ever since Courtenay fitted it.. it came from an Astra GSi which was having a let conversion so got everythng from the doner car and it had similar mileage to my Nova at the time...

When fearless fitted my rod bolts and astra 1.7 diesel sump gasket he commented on how clean and immaculate the engine was.. :cool:
