I have had a similar problem in my Diamond. I spoke to Vauxhall direct, & they said a vehicle recall maybe required.

It is a real pain, as it a quality feature.

Hoping to drop in a Ford V8 in the next few weeks, then we will have a real car.

I had my Diamond recalled by Vauxhall, who then sent it back with an Astra SRi air freshener fitted. I can't tell you how smart it looks.

I can't wait until next month when I will have saved enough of my paper-round money to buy a Cavalier 1600 gear knob. How cool is that. I'm also planning to lower the Diamond by letting some air out of the tyres.

Dear ade,
If you care to insult me, please learn the english language. Being insulted by a scottish w*nker, is about as forcefull as breaking out of a wet paper bag.

This is one of the greatest web sites I have ever seen. So much money and devotion, to what are basically one of the cr*pest cars ever made.

You lot bot each other over the addition of a silver gear knob, or a Chrome badge from a Vectra, f*ck me, that is extreme modifying.

When you boys get out of nappies, you will realise what sad tw*ts you are.

Thank you

*** Applause ***

The Nova was a car you had in the f*cking 6th form, for those of you on here who got that far at school.

Excuse me while I go and drop a 3 litre Capri engine into my Maxi.

Guys,

Please stop this? You are filling up the valuable chat space with nonsense. Lets talk vauxies. More importantly I've just got some new 16inch allies for my Nova sport. Thinking of getting a new trim in November. Has anyone seen Ally recently has he got that GTE yet.

Crispy pankcake can leave this chat area for good.

He is obviouly single and desparate.

Regards

Tim

Tim Bean
23-08-02, 09:27 AM
Eh!

The NOVA is a fun reliable car. I've only spent 85 quid on it this year. As for being for 6th form kids. My dads mate has one and he's 39. Anyway a maxi is not a vauxie so that shows how thick you guys are mate. I don't want to recieve any more of this rubbish.

crispy pancake
23-08-02, 09:29 AM
One cannot have a serious discussion about "vauxies", they are just a joke.

As for for single & desperate, is it I who spends all the shelf stacking money from Tesco's, buying cheap tat, and applying to a rusty piece of cack, that if it broke 100mph, would make the Guiness Book of Records.

What is a Nova Sport, one that goes down hill with go faster stripes, & 16" Astra wheels, I can only laugh until I cry.[/img]

Chicken Drummer
23-08-02, 09:42 AM
I wouldn't call sh*tting myself every time I went over 20 mph and listening to the sound of engine parts dropping onto the road fun. Still, if 39 year olds drive, they must be cool.

If you want to talk Vauxies, I saw a really dood Zafira the other day. It was red.

crispy pancake
23-08-02, 09:47 AM
I've only spent 85 quid on it this year That is a sh*t load of filler.

A 39 yr old with a Nova, is a a blow up doll for your pleasure by any chance?

Tim Bean

Finally some sense

Shows how little you know Drummer boy. (great retort)

Can you find us (joke get it findus) any more rubbish to talk about.

Your not cod (get it rimes with God).

Maybe I will get my cousin to sign on as Codnsauce. Your user names are stupid. Oh by the way mi mates call me Jim Bean. coz it sounds like the rum drink.
Whats this about an air freshner. Utter rubbish. They aren't factory fitted. You buy em in petrol stations etc. Someone probably put it on before you bought it. If you are having problems with it then try getting anew one. How thick are you you moran.

Chicken Drummer

I have a mate called John Smith, they call him Malibu & coke, after the drink.

If you havent seen a factory fitted air freshner, you clearly are not a 'vauxies' expert, just a sad lonely git, who has no friends, and a v sh*t car.

People will be laughing at you too. Your making an arse out of yourselves.
Some of the stuff you are writing is embrassing yourselfs. Saddos. I've a cushie job at an insurance company in Bristol. All I have to so is photocopy and do adminiy stuff. Get paid 5.50 an hour so stuff you two sad gits who probably work in a crappy supermarket

I can only imagine what a god awful day you must suffer.

Driving to work in a sh*tbox, photocopying yr arse, and buying Kit Kats for yr fellow workers, then to finish a truly miserable day, drive home is the rust riddled, piss poor excuse for a car, that on most days will be skinned alive my most 2CV's, Maxi's, & Renaukt 5's (another true sh*t box).

I thought the SR stood for sh*t and rot. As they are sh*t cars, and prone to rot.

When you kiddies have thrown your school books, sachels & napppies away, maybe you will be ready for a real car, no, not a GTE, something that will do something when you plant the right foot.

Nothing too much against scottish people, just not going to take being called a Twat from one.

Hope you all got good GCSE & A-level results.

Firstly, I'm not Scottish - I'm English working in Scotland.

Secondly, apologies if you were offended but I only call people twats when they behave like them - if you dont like/drive novas why the hell you bothering yer arse poisting here... surely you should be searching for porn - maybe you stumbled across this site thinking it was porn?

Be interested to know how many other sites youve spiked full of sh1te just to get a rise out of people.

I'm pissed off at myself for actually rising to the bait - yer prob decent guys who actually would be a real laugh - but when you do it at the expense of other people it aint worth it. I'm also amazed the admins have let this thread last - prob think its funny how we all jump to defend ourselves/cars

So come on then chicken drummer n crispy pancake - what do you drive?

Many references to 6th form, school books n sachels (who uses the word sachels nowadays except public school boys!) I reckon you aint even passed yer driving test yet! Or yer cruising around in yer ruich daddies BM or Merc - who gives a sh1t

(we now wait for the retaliatiory comment about how sad we are for driving novas...and how they're not worth the rust that holds them together etc...etc... oh how we wait in anticipation...)

For the record, I drive a Ibiza Cupra 1.8T. This has also been chipped by UpSolute, had a Hurricane Induction Kit & Forge DV added, raising it to approx 180BHP (at last rolling road session).

So I think that clears me to discuss the various merits of hot hatch, (use the term very loosely when discussing Nova's) cars.

28-08-02, 03:05 PM
They have a point mate - why would someone with your detest of the Vauxhall Nova come and use a site which is dedicated to it?

You obvisouly have nothing in common with anyone here, hence the constant bickering and bitchiness so why not just go about your business in your Seat and leave us here with our Nova's.

Are they a crap car? Matter of opinion at the end of the day.
Rusty? Some, but not all - but certainly prone to it in areas.
Fast? Not as standard but can be when tarted up a little.

So - you don't like the Nova... fine. I have no problem with you as a result. However, I do have a problem with you because you ahve come onto this site which you were obviously not going to use nicely like the rest of us do - and you have decided to cause some disruptions.

Two words for you.

GROW UP.
It is much more sensible to do what you have an interst in rather than simply put down other peoples interests - oh, now i understand - you have no interests of your own besides insulting people. One of those people... Oh well... I am sure you will live to be a bitter twisted individual as a result.

Don't bother trying to start an arguement with me - because it wont work, I wont take the bait like some of the others have, I simply had something to say about your behaviour and now I have said my piece - that'll do.

Like I said - nothing against you - or your car - or you using this site - just use it for what was intended or what is the point in you using it at all.

28-08-02, 06:59 PM

By the way, I don't have a car. Living in central London, I find that I don't really need one, plus I prefer to spend my cash on fruitful things, such as hookers and coke, rather than a piece of fibreglass for the boot of my rusty shed to impress council bints down on Sarfend sea-front.

<--- A's and B's for GCSE's and A'Levels. And an LLB (Hons) Law.

At the moment i have a Nova, so i come on this site as it's about Novas. So you have a Seat Cupra. Did you make it? It's not difficult to pay some money for a car and then sit in it driving. Just because you have a newer/more expensive car does not make you a better person.

I'm all for freedom of speech, opinions and constructive criticism, but what you guys were doing is just pathetic.

The only thing that sets a Nova and a Cupra apart is money, or the Price. So you think having your 180bhp makes you a bigger and better man? I know a bloke with a Nova that's pushing over 200bhp and cost more than two of what you're driving. And another mate of mine owns a chain of pubs and restaurants, bought his wife a Testarossa for Christmas and drives a Lamborghini himself. If you'd like, leave me your number and i'll get him to give you a call and tell you how shitty your car is, as according to your standards he'd be entitled to do that.

If i wanted to, i could go out and buy a Seat Cupra tomorrow morning.

And i don't need to pay for skanky std ridden whores. What's next? Who has a bigger penis? Who has a better looking girlfriend? With bigger breasts? Tighter fanny?

And if you want to carry on with the banter, lets speak of penises, and cars being 'like penis extensions' in particular. We're all hung like donkeys that's why we don't feel the need to compensate for tiny penises by driving round in bigger/more expensive cars.

This is a Nova dedicated site, so if you have one, or would like to find out more, this is the place to come. It doesn't mean that everyone on here thinks that the Nova is the best car in the world, dislikes every other car and/or goes on sites dedicated to other cars to let them know this. Which is what you guys appear to be doing.

carltoncrazy
30-08-02, 10:54 AM

Chicken Drummer
30-08-02, 12:05 PM
To be prefectly honest, I have absolutely no opinion about cars. I think that it is one of the dullest subjects in the world. It is amusing, however, seeing how easy it is to get people riled on the subject. At the end of the day, it is a piece of metal (well, mainly fibreglass for you lot) with an engine in it. The Nova is not exactly the best piece of design/machinery ever produced and I find it fascinating why people (some of whom are obviously quite bright) would dedicate so much time and money to what is, essentially, a fruitless exercise. As they say, You can't polish a t@rd.

wisewood
30-08-02, 12:26 PM
had this discussion with a lad at work yesterday - he saw me looking at feature cars on here and was asking why people spend thousands on a car which is only worth 240 quid.

Because i told him - it makes it drive like its worth 15000 and looks like it's worth more than it is...

Simple.

and it gets you out the house and doing something - some people play on playstation - some people mod cars...

carltoncrazy
30-08-02, 12:42 PM

I can see the pleasure you would get from building something, but why not sit back and build a spliff, much more enjoyable.

Can a Nova ever drive like a ?15K car? Surely it is like driving a faster pile of rust. They may look good in Rotherham, but then again, so do mullets.

LOL

wisewood
30-08-02, 03:22 PM
Now then - don't start slagging off the town I come from...
No need for that. ... last time i saw a mullet round here was - well... last week - but it didn't look good. :D

I didn't reply because I had left work and, having a life, didn't really get round to posting on the weekend. Maybe I should try posting at 2 in the morning after an unsucessful night trying to pull in f@cking Rotherham, just prior to knocking one out over Jordan pictures. Must be what you boys like. By the way, which sad c@nt has posted a porn site on his profile. Blacksonblondes. Just about sums you lot up. You set of sad, lonely little boys.

wisewood
02-09-02, 09:41 AM
Jordan: not my type mate...
pulling in Rotherham: nothing worth the effort and the clubs are shite.

As for sad lonely little boys...

everyone entitled to their opinion, but the way i see it - if you find youself with nothing to do for twenty minutes over the weekend - why not read what's going on here at novaload...

But if that's sad and lonely - I guess i must be :D

Ben (lurk75)
02-09-02, 10:24 AM
My homepage was direct to a porn site but it wasnt blacks on blondes or whatever you wrote, and if you think im a sad little tw*t then you must be one giant bast*rd!

You are getting quite annoying now and cant belive that admin havent sorted this post out yet!

Jordan- i think your the sad one!

wisewood
02-09-02, 10:33 AM
admin wouldn't sort this out - for one thing - it is very entertaining to read - and another - it is in muppet corner - where these guys belong.

They try this stuff in general chat or any of the other "official" forums and we'll see how long they last. :D

Not be long i guarantee it.

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 10:52 AM
What a threat. Barred from the 'official' Novaload forums. What do you talk about in there, spark plugs or ICEing your sheds? Most of you take yourselves very seriously, don't you?

In reply to the guy who asked why I'm on here, I am interested, in a vaguely anthropological way, in what sort of person is into spending money and time on this 'hobby'. If you don't like a bit of harmless banter, don't reply or read. Simple as that.

wisewood
02-09-02, 10:57 AM
anthropological eh...

that'll be the real reason you didn't reply over the weekend then... you were trying to find a new big word you could use in the dictionary. :D :P

Ben (lurk75)

Most of you take yourselves very seriously, don't you?

Not really we just dont like people who have no sense trying to make us look and sound pathetic :!: when it is more than obvious for all to see who that really is.

There are a lot of members on here that dont own nova's or dont like them but they too are interested in our views and what makes us do unusual things to our cars, but they go about it in a mature way and just ask. Rather than trying to stir people up and create a rise so then you can then turn round and think... whta a bunch of idiots.

If you are intrested in something or want to know peoples ideas why dont you just ask sensibly and you would be amazed by the response as most people on here are more than willing to share there views/experiences with others!

It's called having an education. Maybe if you had one you wouldn't have ended up designing Flash intros for obscure websites.

I have said twice now why I have posted on this site and I have yet to receive anything like a decent reply, just 80+ posts of rubbish. OK, so here goes again:

What makes you boys spend all your time, effort and money on this? I can just about understand it if you were doing up a decent car like a Skyline or something, but a NOVA???? You quite clearly do take it seriously as it is quite an investment that some of you have made. Also, if you think I am a joker, check out some of the cars. Adding a shiny exhaust to a Nova 1.0 is hardly serious is it?

Congratulations on your new 'Junior' Status Chicken Drummer, you are truly a Nova warrior.

Cheers Crispy.

By the way, Wisewood, well done on checking the IPs.

*** Applause ***

wisewood
02-09-02, 01:59 PM
:D **takes a bow**

The reason people don't do up a decent car like a skyline is because it costs about 20 times as much...
your average 18 year old car fanatic can't afford a 50k + car ...

oh and chicken drummer - i notice i got no reply to that PM - obviously you are not prepared to reveal your secret. :D

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 02:11 PM
I only just noticed the PM. I'm not prepared to out either myself, Crispy or either of the Tims. If you have anything about you, it's not hard to work out.

wisewood
02-09-02, 02:12 PM
I clearly have had an education then - because i have never designed a flash intro for an obscure web site - or any web site for that matter.

I think flash is a complete waste of time - you just spend an extra 3 minutes waiting for the site to load. :D

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 02:39 PM
Flash is cool, if used well. Who is that website about then? It must be the only one on here that isn't porn, therefore office friendly. (Another hint)

I used to drive a Nova...

wisewood
02-09-02, 03:09 PM
oh right - now i understand...

I didn't design that site.
I just make alterations to it as and when they ask me to.
It is the site for my mates' band.

It is only an obscure site if you don't know who they are...
just like novaload is obscure if you never heard of it.

I have it set up as my web site on here because it generates a little extra traffic to their site - not much - but a little.

Tough Guy, I see you have now seen seen sense, and ditched the rust bucket on wheels, what did you upgrade too, a push bike with spokey dokeys, to remind you of your moddin' days.

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 03:31 PM
No-one is interested in a bog-standard Nova. It has to have, at the very least, some form of modification, like a new badge or gear knob. If it doesn't, get the f@ck off the board newbie.

Cheers for the reponse Wisey. Are they any good?

I'm slipping from my stirrer character. I'll have to be a bit more abusive in future.

Tough Guy
02-09-02, 03:37 PM
In all fairness that would have been some upgrade...

Owning a Nova is something I am quite ashamed of. I thought this was a place I could ditch the millstone, but on further scanning of this site it would appear these people are dare I say it proud of the fact they have owned a Nova.

Incredible....

I am happy to say that my Nova only cast a shadow over my life when I was 15 when I lived in Grenada WI. It did not rust but then there is little rain. I did drive it into a waterfall as it was closer than the scrapyard before I set of to this wonderful country you call GREAT Britain.

And that's where life picked up believe me... Hence my signature!

crispy pancake
02-09-02, 03:43 PM
Tough Guy, that is a moving story. It seems you have broken free on the nova mantle, and moved on to better things, a new country, and a happy life.

It seems many of the little people on here are somewhat proud if their achievements in modifiying an ex heinz beaned bean can, and making it into a baked bean can with a bolt on gear knob, white dials (stick on), and a Peco boy racer back box for good measure.

What a mixed up world we live in

Tim Bean
02-09-02, 03:47 PM
Wot you talking about Drumer Boy.
I've taken my my Nova over a ton on a down hill run. As for rust, if you keep em graraged they are fine.
A bigger egg sauce (get it exsaust) is the only mod i've applied to mi faithful spin.
Ran okay until the Engine Management warning light kept coming on! Vauxhall couldn't idenify the fault.

Auto electrician found the fault within hours, but at a cost as the distributor required replacing!
The overall reliability of the two Vauxall Nova's I have owned has been great, low insurance, road tax and servicing costs.

An excellent motor, shame they don't manufacture them any more!

The spin is nippy for around town & most major roads, although it's not ideal for vast amounts of motorway driving!

wisewood
02-09-02, 03:52 PM
Chicken Drummer - yeah they are good.
But then i would say that - they are 5 of my best mates. :D
The music they write is the sort of thing i like though, and they are good at what they do... just not everyones taste.

by the way Drummer - you don't ind my calling you drummer do you?
why have you all of a sudden started being a bit more nice.

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 04:04 PM
Maybe I'm lulling you into a false sense of security. I'll hit you with a quick one-two in a minute, prove once and for all who is the best.

I only respond when goaded, so if people are nice to me, I shall reciprocate. It seems we have alienated all the other users, which is a shame as I was enjoying the banter. Clearly, you are one of the few who can take a joke, or you have nothing better to do with your time now the mines and steelworks have closed down.

Sometimes, Crispy tends to over-step the mark, I'll have to bitch-slap him soon if he carries on.

There seems to be a Mr Wisewood talking about a group of musicians...

Are you William Burroughs?

I was getting along with Wisewood OK and then this geezer comes along spouting absolute garbage. Could you please send that again in English this time as this is a message board not a bl@@dy mobile phone. Ther's no need for any of this txt spelling, or maybe you're just a retard.

I'm sure that there are some good things that people have done to their Novas, but I don't see the point and I am at such an age that I doubt I ever will. I'm only interested in why they do it. F@cking calm down son.

Drummer - the pit near us was actually demolished before i left school - so i never had the chance to be a true Yorkshire lad and follow the age old tradition of "Get theesen daaan 'pit Ladd."

LMFAO @ false sense of security.
what is this 1-2 combo going to entail then - it is pretty difficult to black someones eyes and break their nose in a chatroom. Believe me i have tried many times. :D

RIGHT t**t,
i was awake as i was wakin for my lass to come home from her parents.

i saw her walking the streets, she wasn't at her parents, she wasn't worth the ?5, can I get a refund??

Tough Guy
02-09-02, 04:54 PM
So no material from this group of musicians. I daresay it wouldn't have been worth the wait.

A good Nova for under 500 GBP...

Tough Guy?
Nice name...

If you want to hear some of their songs - go to the web site - there are 5 tracks on there you can listen to, streaming - so loads quite quickly.
But don't come back here slagging them off if you don't like it - put it in their guestbook - that's what it is for. :D

As for the above comments about hayzsr's girlfriend... Nothing to do with me this one - not getting involved - but i do feel that was a little uncalled for.

:o

Tough Guy
02-09-02, 05:02 PM
Oh dear,

Wanting a refund. This woman must have no class whatsoever.

She'd never get on my payroll in that case. After five pounds worth from one of my ladies there would be no point smelling your fingers afterwards.

I could probably get you a Nova and toss you a pill too...

GREAT Britain, I love it here....

I assumed by my post regarding whatever his name is other half, that people on this board have a sense of humour, I should had realised from previous experience that this is not true.

The average Nova driver has had a sense of humour bypass, in order to spend that money on coloured side repeaters, or a bus ticket to the local wreckers yard to get a GTE Fog lamp.

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 05:09 PM
I told you, Crispy's uncontrolable at times. You shouldn't try and wind him up.

Is this Hayzsr guy for real Wisey? He seems to have some anger management issues, plus an attrocious lack of grammer and spelling.

I'm not going to 'black your eyes and break your nose.' I'm going to torch your motor and pimp out your dog.

Scared???

wisewood
02-09-02, 05:10 PM
Maybe you would find it funny if someone called your girlfriend a bad ?5 whore - but I wouldn't if it was me. I am sure he wont either...

It's not a case of having no sense of humour - but as jokes go - that was a little les subtle than it could have been. :D

Just my opinion.

ade
02-09-02, 05:15 PM
lol at sense of humour bypass!

most of us have senses of humors until you get personal - especially about the cars we drive/girlfriends - unless u know us personally then its usually ok.

Personally think this post has turned into a laugh -but when peepe start posting stuff about other blokes girlfriends thats taking it a bit far - I'm surprised the admin aint sent you a ban warning. Maybe their sense of humour is bigger than others...

Stick to the cars lads - after a while it gets boring (only so many insults you can throw at a nova - we've heard most of em already)

Maybe thats why we've no sense of humour - no original comments! we get bored with repetative insults.

:D

Dont think Hayzsr'll be too impressed with the girlfriend insults mind - surprised he aint replied already...specially the one about the fishy fingers - :x

Little note to any admin that read this post - now would be a good time to lock it out so no-one can add anything else.

I don't really see how this post can now get any further than it already has - it has been an entertaining few days - but now it is getting a little too personal and it should be stopped in my opinion.

I for one believe in the phrase "There is no smoke without fire"

So spill some beans Mr Pancake...

My Nova was a GTE... Very embarassing, when I was fifteen I thought that I was the king. When I was 16 I grew up and seen the light. I could never take the owner of a standard Nova serious again.

I wouldn't like to say what I do if I seen the owner of a modified one...

Surely it is like sprinkling sugar on a piece of s**t (forgive my French) possibly an amusing novelty but not a serious pastime worthy of a dedicated website.

Now I sell livestock and pharmaceuticals from the back of my BIG Mercedes. Just wouldn't work from a Nova I am afraid. Although most of the munchers and guys who cannot get laid are Nova drivers so I have a vested interest.

Ben (lurk75)
02-09-02, 05:26 PM
Ade's right we get idiots like you popping up every couple of weeks and giving out the same dubs everytime, if you did find something original we would laugh (although doubt either you could manage anything original).

With regards to Hayz he has openly admitted he is seriously dislexic and struggles with his grammar and spelling, talking about his girlfriend like that wasnt funny and you really are only embarrising yourself's.

With the dubs about cars alf of them we can understand due to there being a lot of rusty novas about and some do look stupid with silly kits and stuff on, but peoples girlfriends unless you can back up your comments, shut up!

wisewood
02-09-02, 05:32 PM
Well i am sure you and your livestock and pharmecuticals enjoy being drivin around in your BIG mercedes, but tell me, what wer you doing with a GTE at 15 and 16? Why did you not have your big mercedes then if the nova is so bad?

Because you couldn't afford it right?

Nova owners choose to drive their nova mostly because of the cost in most cases. Modifying it is done over quite a long period of time - so although thousands may be spent - it makes their car look nicer and perform better as they do so.

Better then driving around in a standard nova for 5 years while you get some no claims bonus and save the money to buy yourself a bigger better car if you ask me. But then again, that is just my opinion...
Like i said in the first place - I wont argue about it - my opinion is mine - yours is yours - the two do not match - so be it.

Again, however, it begs the question - if you do not like the Nova, or the people who own and modigy them so much - why are you wasting your time on a web site dedicated to the subject?

It is pointless - a little like sprinkling a thin layer of shit over a bowl of sugar :D

Chicken Drummer
02-09-02, 05:37 PM
I think that Tough Guy has been taking too many of those pharmaceuticals and probably banging some of the livestock in the back of his Merc.

If Hayzsr does genuinely have dyslexia, may I take this chance to apologise for any offence, as I, for one, don't find it that funny.
