i cleaned my car today with the intention of polishing it. the pics below look blurred and out of focus.......no that is really how bad my paint it.

now the problem is once i got the polish on it i noticed lots of little "dots". on closer inspection my car is covered in it and it kinda looks like its under the paint possibly??
has anyone else ever came across this and how did you sort it??

it looks like 'solvent pop' or stone chips. try flatting it and re-spraying it.

I quite often find polish leaves small marks on my paint like that. Using cut first and really working the polish into the paint stopped it.
See if you can remove any of them with cutting compound.
If they do come off, then probably best get a cutting mop and G3.
ill get the t-cut out when ive finished me pizza and see what happens

use a colour restorer or coloured polish which is a close match to your paint. the white dots will end up stained blue and it wont be visible. there is no proper solution other than to respray.
hmm ive been working at the same patch and have managed to get rid of most of it. however to do this i applied and buffed off t-cut about 7 times and then finished it off with hand glaze. boll0cks to do the whole car in the same way. i know g3 might not take so many aplications but still!!. ive tried to get a picture of my results but being as there is now no dots the camera cant focus on anything so isn't as clear as id like:confused:

That looks like its been washed with fairy liquid (not saying you have)
Just know that it makes those little dots once its dry.
Or tree sap??

Or tree sap??i was thinking tree sap as ive seen this kinda thing before from sap but theres not a panel that isn't covered in the dots
Could try clay baring it?
Its good stuff, turned my dull/blue ish looking panels back to actual black lol
Before

After

I used a meguiers clay bar kit, it takes off any road sh*te and contamination etc etc
Basically, my paint before felt really rough and crap, now feels like glass
i dont think a clay bar would work as the dots look part of the paint if you see what i mean. its not like there on top
Ahh right
Is a weird one, i dont think ive ever seen heard of anything like this before :tard:
Sign up to edition38.com and post it in the detailing section, theres a few meisters on there when it comes to paint care
Im sure one of them will have a solution :thumb:

Im sure one of them will have a solution :thumb:to be honest i got a fairly good result by hand so ill try a mop on it tomoz and then see what happens. cheers for the advice tho as i still might yet sign up to there :thumb:
That looks like my paint a little :S but i think mine has gone through to the primer and rusted it like twistysnovagte said....
The only time i've ever seen little white/pinky dots was in a E30 M3 that had had some form of contamination when it was originally painted in the factory, they used to keep on reappearing after it was polished.
A Clay bar COULD fix it,they're purpose is to deep clean the surface.. it'd be very wierd if these dots are actually under the paint !

The answer to the problem sounds a bit extreme if you have never used it before but here it is, and it dose work unbelivabley well. Firstly wash the car with normal soap and water followed by a good rinse but dont polish it! get your self some panel whipe or Methylated spritis and a cloth and whipe the whole car over, then get yourself a bowl full of water and a little washing up liquid and loads of 1200 grit wet and dry paper, flat the entire car over with it, dont push overley hard but make sure you apply even pressure and lightly flat the surface of the cars paintwork, wash it all off with plain water and allow to dry, at this stage the car will look absolutley awful but then get yourself some polish and prefrably a electric/ air polisher and give the car a really really heavy polish all over, the paintwork will literally come up like new.
^ lol you mean basically "mop" the car.

Hi there, didnt realise you had any idea about bodywork, hence the semi detailed description, as i'm sure you'll know it will take ages but you wont beat it for the results. good luck anyhow.
