:thumb: let it soak in mate just acts like a degreaser
Proper engine degreaser will shift it easily.
Something like Jizer/Carb cleaner
My dad uses Jizer on uber-gunked train and marine engines, so that should do the trick!
Otherwise, try Cillit Bang lol
degreaser and pressure washer!

white spirit i hear is good
I used a combination of petrol, acetone and a 18v power drill with a wire wheel in it. Believe it or not all of which i just randomly had knocking around in my dads workshop lol

t cut?!?!??! try that jizer saw it in a mag at work suppost to be top stuff!
Use Gunk, let it soak and pressure wash off.
A suede brush will brighten up the alloy nicely if you're not painting it.

if the gbox is still on the car, find the nearest truck workshop & ask them who does their MOT steam cleaning. then pay him to blast it
