You are lucky mate good outcome really for you could of been 10times worse
Thats a good result. Could have been a lot worse!
to be honest the probation pre-report was very good. she got across that im not some scrote and that it was a genuine one off mistake. plus the fact i pleaded guilty at the first oportunity and was fully complient and polite at the cop shop helped.
and i know how much worse it would of been. the guideline for aggrevated twoc is a custodial sentence by itself
you came out lightly compared to what they could have done.
I hope others will read this & learn something.
Well, you seem like a decent chap. So i'm glad you've been punished accordingly ! 9 Months will fly by !

TBH mate your a very sound bloke, im glad things went well for you (given the circumstances)
Bit of a pain on the ban yes, but on the flip side bonus as things could have been worse (as you know yourself)
yeah thats not too bad luke, as said it will fly by
Seems to me the criminal justice system has worked well in this case.
Having done jury service recently I've got much more faith in the way things are handled than I used to. From what I can see, for the most part, the professional, skilled and intelligent people who are involved in the justice system are by and large acting in the best interests of fairness and common decency and try to apply the law as accurately as they can. (Its important to realise that the law is work in progress and as such by definition isn't perfect but its the best solution available in a civilised society). They are there to apply the law which is there to try and a) stop people behaving incorrectly b)apply some proportionate punishment that is principally designed to be a deterrent in the first instance & c) give any victims some kind of sense of justice done.
Clearly Burgo isn't an habitual criminal and this was recognised. We all make mistakes and the majority of us learn from them and as result change the way we behave. He's been handed a deterrent and given the chance to get his life back on tracks in the not too distant future.
Those who passed judgement on the original thread clearly showed whats wrong with many aspects of our society. Its the all too common reaction of relatively ignorant people to vent their spleens without any real attempt to come up with balanced and viable alternatives.
/\/\/\ a point very well put.
