I'm doing Race for Life again this year, 4th year in a row. The event raises money for Cancer Research UK. Lots of info on the site.
If anyone is willing to donate a pound or two, would be much appreciated :thumb: We all know someone who has been affected, lets stamp this out.

Thanks R1CH. What's the distance of Great North Run? Did try googling but found 10k and 1/2 marathon ?? I'm not a great runner at all but wen I train a bit, I've done a previous 3.2 miles in 35 mins I think??

You need to get one of those iPod running monitor things that Jamie has (Nike / Reebok?) that goes in your shoe so you can monitor your times and distance...
Using Google Pedometer now instead, well, before I get one of those. It's awesome. Worked out where I was running along the promenade route was 1.6 miles not 2 as I thought. So today to make up for it, I did the whole 3 miles, first 1.5m run in 13.42 mins. Second 1.5m run/walk in 19 mins. Total 33 ish mins, pretty pleased with that :D

Aye GNR is a 1/2 marathon, 13.1 mile !!
I'm not the best runner in the world either just done it as a cheap way to keep fit and thought the GNR would be a bit of a challange ... it was !!
3.2 miles in 35 mins is ok, don't think i run much quicket tbh.
1/2 marathon, **** good luck. I ran 1 1/2 miles on monday, in 13 mins. Had to really push myself to get to the half way mark, and then I was fit for nothing to get back the other half way! lol. 13 miles, fair play to you, I couldn't do it. What charity you doing it in aid of?
Anyone else want to spend a pound or two for Cancer Research :)

Aye corse you could, i'd only ever ran 6 / 7 miles before i done it, once you get going and are running with god knows how many thousands of others its easier than you'd expect !!
Last year i split it between Cancer Research UK and a local charity which my mother works for, un-decided on who i'm gonna do it for this year.
PS .... Come on you tight b*stards, surely you can spare a quid or two for a good cause !!

Think this needs a bump to the top
It's all the way on page 3 :O
