I've got the same problem that John had with his solid mounts (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79715), basically if we use the top hole the engine lean's towards the drivers side, and in the middle hole it sit too high and the bonney won't shut...

AFAIK the rocker cover gasket should be level with the slam panel..

Engine is an early dizzy type fitted in a 1990 GTE. Solid's mounts are the Chris Astley jobbies with Brian Sidebotham mounts (iirc) and i've also tried a Chris Astley one aswell...

Any idea's guys?

file the hole out to make it as long as you need to make engine sit flat doesn't matter which you use as long as it sits true in the bay

Dont slot the top hole MAZZ, it'lll just slip down.

See if the middle hole can be slotted but otherwise try fitting everything with all the mount bolts loose (engine/box on jack) put it where you want it sitting & then tighten the bolts.

Hmm, i bet that bolt wont hold it tight if you slot the holes, it'll just slip down to the bottom point.

Or as Bean suggested the other day, make up some shims/spacers to put between the mount and chassis, then put the mount on the top hole.

Mazz i had to use the middle hole, and just trim a bit out of the bonnet. You're welcome to come and have a look at mine anytime you want.
