Any1 know how to fix alarms??

Ive got a problem with my alarm, i think it may have been a factory fitted thing cos its a shit philips thing. Its worked fine since i got the car (1 year) but now it doesnt work. Tried changing the battery on the remote, the only life i ever get out of it is occaisionally if i press it on a quiet day i can hear it beep really quietly, but it doesnt seem to arm. Could there be a problem with an internal battery or is it just fcuked??
Any help will be much appreciate.

ah here i can help
right had this problem with my range rover.
right sure you know alarms work on the fob sending a signel to the reciever in the car,yeh.
check every connection.and clean all lenes
after that jus get a new fob
bout 20quid

cheers luv. I'll giv it a go, being an alarm tho its a bitch to check all the wiring. Mite just get a new alarm, need remote central locking anyways.
