View Full Version : Shaving Calipers
hi everyone just after some advice on shaving ATE astra 16v calipers to fit nova gsi 3 spoke wheels over the top?
i dont have any pics at the moment but the caliper sticks out into the wheel lots so you cant even bolt the wheel down.
i just wondered if anyone else has done this and taken any pictures or could help me with any advise before i attemt it.
thanks

Firstly, mine are TD brakes (256x20mm), so slightly smaller.
I started out by having them touched down with a bench grinder:

Many trial fits later:

ending up like this:

In hindsight I just have just bought some astra GTE wheels.

ET42.5 should be easier to fit. You will be able to use spacers and longer wheel bolts to get the wheels over the brakes, but you might start having arch clearance issues.
tried it with 5 mm spacer and still didnt fit
