View Full Version : my rolling road tune up
the guys checked the compression as soon as it got in the work shop and it showed.....
number 1 275
number 2 275
number 3 300+
number 4 275
ops! 1.6 block, 16v pistons and 1.4 head....so changing back to 1.6 head .......

yep that compression looks a tad high lol
hmmm, not the end of the world lol.
iirc Dans 1.6 used to do something like 250psi across the board.
What was it running like?

What was it running like?
very well apparently
Whats the problem then?
What have you calculated the compression ratio to be? Did it overun? Was it detonating?
Why did you put the 1400 head on?
MC
i had a 1.3 block and wanted the bigger valves.... then changed to a 1.6 block and kept the cam from the over engine as high lift! the ratio was about 14:1.....
Sounds about right.
The 1600 head has deep combustion chambers whereas the 1400 head doesn;t.
