View Full Version : R1 bike carbs on an XE
well, a friend of mine came to see me last night with a set of R1 bike carbs in hand, and asked me if i could fit them for hime. to be honnest im not exactly sure what some of the cables are for and what to do with them, so if anyone could tell me id appreciate it.
also what do i do for a manifold... apart from get him to pay 150 off ebay.

They're not carbs, they're throttle bodies, going to need management to run them
well he claims to of got them from an r1

This is the one.
They are 100% bodies.
2001on Yammy R1's had throttle bodies fitted
so is it a deffinate that they need a seperate managment? what the hell can he get one of those from?
He will need a fully mappable aftermarket ECU, and a map making for it.
Prices start from around ?300 for the ecu, then ?200+ for mapping....
^^^^^^ oooohh he's not gunu like that lol
My advice.
Flog them and get some carbs.
There a cheap fit onto a c20xe.

thats the idle up wax stat for the idle air bypass.
if iam to be a very honest man with you, you havent got a hope in the land of camels of installing those if you didnt even know what they were. best idea would be to send them to eBay.
