On some of my folders in XP, its not retaining the view (i.e. list, icon, thumbnail etc) which isn't so much of a problem, but what is baking my noodle is the folder type setting screwing up.
XP tries to be clever by changing the details and layout of a folder depending on the content - so for example my pictures defaults to thumbnail view with date taken, modified, size, dimensions, etc as the sortable properties; my music defaults to detail view with artist, length, size, duration, etc as the sortable properties. Fine. However, some folders are fcuking up and I can't change them - My Documents thinks its a music folder, even though there's no music files in there. A couple of other folders have randomly selected properties, and no matter what I do (view > choose details, or properties on the folder > folder type), they always revert back to the screwed up settings.
Any ideas? Aside from reinstall windoze and/or switch to linux lol
