1 Dead Saloon

Well after 4 months of modifying and planning other mods to my car someone smashed into it on Monday and by the looks of it has wrote it off.

Well i've got to look on the bright side.

Not a single mod has been damaged and the car was gonna need some work to get to it back to a show condition.

So it gives me a chance to spend a bit more time looking and getting a mint example. Only thing thats disappointing is i probably will have difficulty finding a carbed 1.4 version which means downgrading to an even slower car.

I could put my current engine in a new shell but likely to cost me more on insurance.

Then once i get the new one it's a matter of moving all the bits over.

Only prob is theres hardly any saloons for sale at the mo and even less in a decent colour and condition :(

Seems to be a choice of Turqoise or Red at the mo.

well i front ended my first saloon and by pure luck found another :)

it was listed in autotrader as "Nova 1.2 Merit with pioneer stereo" in the bargain section and when i went to look at it it just happened to be a 4 door saloon in white - exactly like my old one, cept it was a mk2 :D


what had u done to it anyway?

and what were u planning on doin?

i am prolly gonna take this 1.4SPi ive got here and switch it back to carbs the put that in me current car after a little tinkering :)

as for mods - all ive done so far is whacked astra 16v brakes and alloys on and drilled the airbox :)

Lowered 50mm on springs and shocks

Was planning on modding it over the winter found a guy local who'll do one off bodykits.

I'd really like a black or white one but might settle for blue or red. Really don't think turqoise or that gold/silver will do this time round.

I know how u feel,took my gsi to guildford the first nite i had it an came back to find sumone had completly caved in my rear 3/4 panel with their head :cry: (yes i nearly cried) :cry:

You could have found the tw at that did it - just by lookikng for someone severely concussed or with a large tom n jerry fartoon bump on their head!

Well i'm off shopping for another saloon today.

Only prob is if i get one this week i'll be wanting to transfer everything over from the old one before it goes on display on the stand at trax.
