Hi, im new to this forum and iv just bought myself an old 1984 nova. Unfortunatly its only a 1.0.. But its my first car and as iv got 6 points my insurance is through the roof. Iv been doing some looking around and was wondering can a bodykit such as abyss bodykit fit on it?

Or even a newer Nova front bumper and rear bumper fit on it?

Many thanks

James.:)

If anything put a gte kit on. none of this fiberglass rubbish waste of time and never looks right imo. oh and welcome to the club

Abyss bodykit will fit, in fact any bodykit will fit depending on how much work you're willing to put in.

If you want to update to the Mk2 bumpers, you'd ideally need to replace the bumpers, grille, headlights, indicators and front wings.

If you want to fit GTE bumpers, you'll need the grille as well - assuming your '84 Nova has the all-in-one bumper/grille combo.

Most people prefer original styling though. Best option IMO would be the early pre-faclift SR (so 83-86) front valance if you're set on fitting bigger bumpers.

Noooooooo!! Don't do it!

As above, if you are going to do anything at all then get some SR bumpers or GTE ones if you can afford to get them sprayed. Don't mk2 it either, mk1 styling is so much better :D

Get some pics up and dont ruin it, it may look good to you but think after youve thrashed it about the place for a year you will want another car! with a bodykit its worth what? 4pence?

leave it as it is(standard), adding daft bodykits will only send your insurance up even more, like bigs says if you realy have to,then the gte kit would be the choice for me.;)

Wash it and treat any rust before it gets too bad!

Dont do anything to the Body. Lower it on 15" Steels and fit a nice exhaust and a non poverty spec interior.

mine was the same.

Then a GTE front bumper and grill and cav GSI alloys painted grey, lowered 80/60 and it was sorted for what i wanted.

Have a look at my project, personally you'd be best of leaving it on standard bumpers and just lowering it by 60mm.

And a decent set of vauxhall alloys (not cav gsi as they look crap) and you're done.

That's a bit harsh :tard:

It's your choice anyway, there are plenty of styles to go for. Just browse the forum and see what you fancy :D
