i was all set for the rolling road yesterday, got the tax and a few days insurance sorted, rushed to get tyres fitted.went to pull the nova out the garage friday to finish a few things, general wash and polish etc..... it was misfiring and wouldnt idle!!

was gutted, never had any engine problems since owning it. changed plugs, distributer, rotar arm, fuel filter, tried playing with ignition timing. fuel pump was always a biy noisy but never had issues, couldnt get a new one till tueday though .

got it running slightly better, went for a spin but couldnt go over 60. coil lead was faulty so changed that, a little better but still holding back. gave up at 10pm friday night and decided not to chance driving to jamsport.

noticed the exhaust is blowing today so thats next to check.

insurance ran out today so took some pics before it goes back in the garage.

exscuse the indicators, they were one of last minute things that needed doing. coilovers were suppose to be ordered this week to but they'll have to wait now. :(

I trust the engine bay is as heavily chromed?

See your front number plate - you have any bother from plod?

I know some peeps say theyre a no no and I always fancied one on my new project - but not if its gonna cause bother...

cheers ade, unfortunatly not yet, need to pay the wheels off before i can buy nice shiney bits lol the running problems could give me reason to start striping bits off, cleaning em up and getting them chromed though :thumb:

funny you should say that, i didnt have any sticky pads for my new road legal front plate so i drove with the black one on to halfords, got pulled on the way. police man comes around the front of the car, then says right then "no tax, MOT or insurance!!!" showed him my tax disk being a couple of days old and then he sent me on my way. the other copper was standing in front of the car while all this was happning, and they also turned there car around and drove past me, didnt say anything about it though.

i definetly wouldnt drive with a black rear numberplate though, even though i have one, only for show. generaly wouldnt drive with a black one on the front either, that was the first time. their on velcro pads for quick swapping.:thumb:

the plates are aluminium pressed ones btw, and iv'e spent ages polishing the letters. not that it shows , need a machine polisher :(

Stunner. Needs to come down on ride height but otherwise the black plates ruin it for me. Just doesn't need them.
