I dont think you'll find a dedicated Nova only racing club running a one make Nova racing series anywhere. Novas are abit long in the tooth and most single make circuit racing is commonly based around current or specialist stuff - ie caterham, beetle, mini, ford, renault etc. There is vintage and classic racing but Novas are neither of these really. Back in their day they were used almost exclusively for rallying/rally cross events where they had serious support from the manufacturer and professional teams and that still continues today but at a lower level.

In the N/W I would have thought that most serious Nova competition cars are more likely to be rally orientated than anything else. You might also find that the local car clubs are also a bit that way inclined. They'll probably have pub based get togethers on a monthly basis and run events like auto testing or road rally events etc all of which will suit a nova. They may even provide marshalls for local rally events etc which you can get involved in. They are usually run by people a fair bit older than the normal young Nova owner.

Otherwise there are hill climb events and mixed tin top circuit racing events all over the country that you can join in with but you need to research these fairly thoroughly to make sure you get in a class or series that you can be reasonably competitive in. You maybe advised to stay 1400 for instance if you want to go hillclimbing. You will also need to be ready for pay out a serious wedge of cash. Safety gear such as approved helmets, race suits, fire extinguishers, harnesses, cages, seats, fuel filler systems etc to pass scrutineering can be pricey before you even get on track and then you'll have the extra cost of tyres etc which you will get through at an alarming rate. Plus there's the cost of getting to and from events all over the country to contend with as well.

it would be good if someone started a nova race championship!

last year they started the mk2 golf gte championship... my races in it! brilliant to watch, and split into 2 catagories, 8v and 16v gti's.

could have a 1600 8v, a 1400 8v and a 1300 8v championship. i'm sure they'd be people to do it.

You might mean autocross / autograss racing which is effectively stock cars (usually 1000cc or 1300cc) for junior categories. This is popular in England, but not so much in Scotland.

There are loads of car clubs in the north-north/west that run regular road rally/12 car events.

That's probably your best bet !
