Does anyone know which dizzy to use for running twin carbs on a C20XE engine?
I am sure I remember someone saying a Mk2 Cav 1.6 was needed, I assume its a big block 1.6 dizzy.
Can anyone confirm this or tell me which is best, also what engine code its from or even better a part number.
Is there a guide to fitting carbs to a C20XE anywhere?
Yes its a big block dizzy from a carb'd 1.6/1.8
1.6SH comes to mind.

because the ignition curve will be much more accurate than one from a significantly smaller engine thus releasing more horses
What he said/\
An old single carb 1.6 engine ignition curve isn't really suited to a Twin 45 2L 16v lol

Contact H&H Ignition services if you still want a dizzy set up, they have various different packages to suit.

I have their 'twin carbs and cams' dizzy on my XE Nova, which runs fine and is plenty powerful, but after driving a mates XE on throttle bodies and MBE managment his was a lot smoother and better low down the revs.
Dizzy set up is still fine for me tho!!

A Dizzy setup with carbs on an XE isnt ideal, but on a budget a 1.6 Cav doe's the job.

I find the dizzy ideal, as I'm either full throttle or no throttle in the car.
Its sep up for max advance, so at full wack its timed perfectly.
