I decided to fit a smaller steering wheel but upon removing current, noticed that thread was not good. Anyhow, now the nut and shaft thread are both screwed.

Obviously for the nut i can easily replace but what are the best options for the shaft thread. Anyone had to resolve this problem before? Is it possible to repair thread & if so how would i go about it?

or better just to replace the shaft entirely??

Cheers guys

you could get the thread recut if its not too bad and if you know someone with the equipment, or take it to a garage/engineers for a recut (if you can drive the car). other than the, head for the scrappys and get a new steering column (or if your near to me, buy mine!!)
