ok when driving the other day i noticed a clunk from the wheel when i was braking

after closer investigation ive noticed the following:

if i accellearate hard it sometimes clunks
if i brake at all it clunks
if i accelerate hard then lift off in say 1st or 2nd gear it clunks on both accell and decellerate (this repeats if i continually accell/decell)
if i brake over bumps or sometimes when cornering it clunks repeatadly

any ideas?

my da thinks its the steering rod bush? in not too sure

thanks

it culd be but my thought is that it aint
see when you give it sum the front end raises up(im asuming standrd shocks etc).when you bake it slams down.
its to peices of metal rubs or banging right.so if it was a brush you should be able to grab and move it.as when the brush go it gives it more play,
however.unless its reallly fucked,it shuldnt be banging.
to be honest this sounds more like a suspion problem

Let us know if it worked.

could be that ur cv boot has split and a tremendous amount of shit has got into the joint..jack up that side of the car and turn the steering full lock so that your looking from behind the wheel at the shaft and things.
turn the wheel slowly and check to see that there is no splits or tears in the boot..

If there is you wil have to strip down the joint and c;lean it good and proper and whack a new boot on.
