View Full Version : damper's WIP
well folks its time to begin my WIP thread. for the last year or so ive had nowhere of my own to work on any cars but since moving into my new house i have a garage and a driveway :D so ive now calmed the partying down and touch and rolled up my sleeves to begin building 2 cars - yep, ive gone from no projects to 2  lol
well i moved in to my new place 5weeks ago, although the garage still loooked like this
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii32/vaux-mad/IMG00014.jpg
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii32/vaux-mad/IMG00013.jpg
to say i wasnt happy was an understatement, it took another 3-4 weeks to be emptied and only then when i threatened to put all the stuff out onto the road, once emptied i converted all this
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii32/vaux-mad/IMG00041.jpg
into this, the workshop
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii32/vaux-mad/IMG00055.jpg
and the shed
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii32/vaux-mad/IMG00057.jpg
and the loft
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii32/vaux-mad/IMG00060.jpg
and the office/clean workshop

Time to do some DIY detective work mate! Some pretty distinctive stuff of yours that's been lifted so if they are local I reckon you're in with a chance of exacting some revenge and getting at least some stuff back!

Fark, that's gutting mate. Get it belled up and make sure the doors are nice and solid. When ours got broken into a fair few years ago the insurers paid for a great big hefty fire-door to be put on the side, all clad in metal with great big locking pins that go right into the frame. They even replaced the main door with one that has at least 5 locking points on it too. Also block off any windows, simple shutters made from a piece of wood on a hinge so you can let the light in if needed.
cheers folks, the insurance company have the list of stuff that went missing now so hopefully should get paid out in a week or 2, got an alarm sorted for it now aswell with air horns being used instead of the original bell box

ive also been mincing about painting the floor/walls and sorting storage out in the garage.
work got a new welder in so with my charming personality i blagged teh old one for a few days to get cracking, managed to get the bottom arm mounting points, steering rack, and a few other seams welded up and also a few plates put in before the gas ran out and this is how it stands at the mo

during the next few weeks ill go down on my days of and get some more of the inside done then hopefully when im back on my weekends off get it back up on its sides, all welding completed and get it painted properly/undersealed etc, then its just the cage (once ive got my replacement front legs and doorbars, turret triangulation) passenger door, bootlid and bumpers still to source, engine to rebuild, interior to sort out, wiring to tackle, paint and rebuild - easy peasy lol
