Ive come to removing the old driveshafts on my xe lump. I gave them a sharp pull like what you do with the old 8v lumps and they didnt move so i tried prizing them out with a screwdriver and still not budging. I guess Im not pulling hard enough but the shafts have been cut and there aint alot to get hold of. Am I right or am I missing something here?
Just tight by the sounds of it. Unfortunately theres no quick fix here, your going to have to keep pulling on them. Push the shaft as far into the CV before each tug to give a kind of reverse hammer effect.
trd and get a little pry bar and prise them out or a slight tap using a strong screwdriver might help
Aye, as Lee said, push them in as far as they go and yank rather hard :D
Hammer and chisel around the edges :)
i find a tyre lever works quite well
i just make sure shaft is level, then push in, and pull out hard...
never had one problem getting a driveshaft out like that
Thats definently the best method/\
If you can get one shaft out, hit the other out with a bar from the other side of the diff.
