anybody ripped out there rear and changed to a van?

im just wondering if i change my car through dvla can i change it to a van and then insure it as a van? anybody else done it?

im doin it rite now and my mates got one that used to be a car and now its a van we just aint told them we have turned them in to vans. my mates been pulled in his and n was said

its cheaper to insure as a car than a van, i stripped out my estate to use as a van as it was much cheaper to insure and less agro than changing details with dvla etc.
