Reverse light

Hi there i know this is a re post but i cant find the old one! my reverse light doesnt work but the bulb fine, think someone said about the gear box sensor?does this happen quite a lot thanks

its possible, what do you know about car electrics? an easy way to test would be to disconnect the switch and bridge out the wires, with the ignition on the reverse light should come on. have you actually tested the bulb?

ive put a new bulb in. where abouts is the sensor? i just take that out and bridge the light at the back with a wire and it should cum on! thanks

the switch should be on the top of the gearbox, with a 2 pin connection. disconnect it, bridge out the two wires, if the light comes on, the switch is at fault, if the light doesnt come on, its a problem elsewhere...
